Hey guys this is santo_shh from beerdbiker.blogspot.com today I am going to review about my 6 years ownership experience about Pulsar 220F DTSi
As every one knows Pulsar's are popular in indian market for quiet some time. In this review I want to stress about the 5 main points which should keep in mind if you have plans to keep Pulsar 220F for about 5 to 10 years
Pros
Bajaj has a huge amount of sales and service center network through the country. So it is easy to get your bike serviced in any of the Authorized service center.
As 220F is quiet an old model the availability of spare parts is not an issue. And most of the parts have beed modified in order to improve the overall ergonomics, riding comfort and durability of the bike.
For city use and short trips Pulsar220F service your purpose it is 220 c.c engine 21.05 Ps and a torque clocked at 19.12 Nm. Comes with the dual disk and Tubeless tyres with the tank capacity of 15Liters which is more than sufficient for a good 450 - 500km run which serves the purpose.
Cons
1.Engine is quiet noisy. Vibrations near the faring is high, issues with engine over heat problems and problems with sensors(2010 model)
Cost of spares and labor charge in service centers is quiet high
There is no provision of kicker so the battery should always have charge if min charge is dead you cannot start the vehicle.
Final Verdict
For A price point of < 90, 000/- Ex Showroom Karnataka its a high torque high power fun to ride motorcycle. Morning Start ups are not at all a problem because of Auto Choke. If you are buying your first gear vehicle just go for it I still use my Pulsar 220F for City and for short trips <500kms . Just keep a check on the showroom where you service most of the guys are rude and they tell that spare part is not available. Just email Bajaj with your problem they will get back to u ASAP. from my experience.
Overall a good motorcycle to own for the Amateurs and First time Bikers
3.5 / 5 stars
