Hi,

I have thought of putting down a few lines about my ''machine'', the Caliber 115 for a long time and finally I saved some time to jot down this:

I bought this machine some 75 days back and it is awaiting second service. First some positive things about this byke.

Looks: I think this is the best-looking exe-commuter byke. It is sleek (even the Wind look small than a sleek one)

Service: The bajaj agency in our area is very good at service and they politely listen to your complaints (and try to satisfy you too)

Now negatives:

Mileage: Oh! this is disappointing. Its mentioned in more reviews in MouthShout. I thought maybe the machine the guys had bought were bad pieces and thats it. Maybe, I have got a bad piece, too. My machine gives at best 50 Kmpl, city conditon (Worst, it gave me 32 kmpl). Amazingly, it gives 70 kmpl on Highways. I am confused. Why this huge deflection. I have got my bike fine-tuned (maybe the carbu...) twice and still get the same result.

Build quality: More often than not, I can hear an unwanted noice from the front. Initially I thought ''Maybe the fairing is not perfectly fit''. I thought so and hence got that rectified too. After a week or so, the same story is repeating. Just remember, I am that sort a guy who never drives recklessly and I hate rash driving. I adhere to the User Manual given and I rode at 40kmph during the first 750 km and I only once or twice reached beyond 50 kmph during the next 750 kms.

Pillion riding: When you are riding alone, my god, this machine has great pick-up (maybe next to or even better than the Yamaha). But ask your friend to come for a ride with you and lo, it feels as if it is towing a 2 tonne mini truck. Not nice, know!

Overall:

If you are riding alone, and want the passers-by to look at you and your machine and think that you are a decent executive with self esteem, if you are not that much concerned about spending that extra money for a liter or two, here is a byke... welcome to the world of Hhhhoodddiiibbbaaabbbaaa.

(Just an after thought: Maybe, just maybe, TVS Fiero F2 has all the ingredients to fit into the last para?)
