Yashraj productions are simply the best. Yashraj movies rocks! Yashraj productions rules!
Gone are the days. friends!
*Yashraj banner seem to be in a slumber or probably they have started taken audience for granted. It is a surprise, definitely not a pleasant one, to get disappointed from the movies by Yashraj banner.
It all started with JBJ, Tashan, Aaja Nachle, Laaga Chunri mein daag, Kabul express and now BAH adding to the list. Yashraj banner which was another name for dreamy romantic movies is now turning into a disappointment. If it doesn't improve the quality of movies then it would be really sad for their fans.
.:Concept of BAH:.
This is a movie which is based on heart-breaks. A concept which is quite new and innovative but then again nothing is more bad than a good concept being wasted. Same is the case with BAH. Concept has been tore apart by the director and the script writer. Adding to it the performances by the actors further worsened the case.
.:Story of BAH:.
The story is about the life of a heart-breaker, Raj Sharma(Ranbir Kapoor). He believes in having fun and is not really interested in getting hooked up with any girl for life. He meets 3 girls in his life at different points of time.
Mahi(Minisha Lamba) is a girl who is totally in love with DDLJ and is in search of her own'Raj'. She looks cute and innocent and rocked the screen in the first half with lots of scenes recreated from the legend of romance - DDLJ.
Radhika(Bipasha Basu) is an aspiring model and shares a live-in relation with Raj Sharma. Although she is a modern girl but when it comes to marriage she is traditional.
Gayatri(Deepika Padukone) is a taxi driver in the night and a MBA student during day time. She is also a killer like Raj and breaks the killer's heart.
It is at this moment that Raj realizes his fault and then sets on his mission to seek forgiveness from the two girls whose hearts he had broken in the past. He plays a cupid in their lives and makes them happy.
.:Analysis of the concept:.
The concept of the movie is quite impressive and had huge potential but it was all spoiled by the director. The movie revolved around theme of heart-breaks. It tried to portray the after-effects of heart-breaks, the impact it has on the broken heart. Heart-breaks were not shown diligently and emotionally.
The movie involved breaking the hearts 3 times - Mahi's by Raj, Radhika's by Raj, Raj's by Gayatri; But we could not see or feel any pain.
The movie involved falling in love 5 times - Mahi for Raj, Radhika for Raj, Raj for Gayatri, Mahi for her husband, Gayatri for Raj; But sadly, neither of these could make us feel chemistry or romantizisation.
It is such a beautiful concept that I felt like intervening and improvising the movie.
.:Analysis of the performances:.
No one could deliver a powerful performance. But they are not to be blamed as the movie itself didn't have much scope for them to show their talent. So, rather than discarding them as actors I would say that there is a long way for these actors. They have got lots of talent and all they need is to be bit careful while choosing the movies.
Minisha Lamba's role in the first half of the movie demands special attention. I loved watching her thoroughly. Infact, this was the only part in the movie which I enjoyed watching and which made me feel like I am watching a Yashraj banner movie.
.:Analysis of the music:.
Music of the movie is another good point. With the music already on the circuits before the release of the movie, huge expectations were set with the movie. But it let us all down, the movie not the music.
All the songs of the movie are hummable, peppy, and melodious.
Romantic numbersAhista-ahista, Khuda jaane rocked the hearts but these are the songs only for a season. Not the types which we will cherish for long.
Dance numbersLucky boy, Small town girl are quite fun to watch and dance along.
Jogi mahi is a song with Punjabi tadka which is also quite good.
.:Last words:.
Avoid this movie. It has nothing at all to offer besides heart-break.
