.Situated in a sprawling campus, in the lap of nature, with greenery all around, Azeezia the first and only Medical College in Kollam, is one hospital that stands different from the pack. Situated 20 kms away from Kollam in Meeyannoor, amidst lush green rubber and coconut plantations, far from the hustle and bustle of the town, daily grinds and the madding crowd, this place provides the much needed break for convalescing . The sight of the imposing façade of the hospital which is situated in one of the most idyllic of places in a serene atmosphere instills in you a sense of relief and rejuvenates you to a great extent. The view from the 6th floor where pay wards are located, provides a panoramic view of the glittering waxy green canopy of the dense plantations below affords much soothing to the perturbed nerves and atrophied sinews.
The cool mist and early morning fog somewhat reminded me of Munnar, a place that I always relished and yearn to visit. Tranquility, serenity and humanity, the three virtues go hand in hand in Azeezia. The place provide solitude and solace and recuperating is that so much easy when you are in this sort of an ambiance hitherto unknown to hospitals in Kollam. Time somewhat stands still in this rustic milieu, at least for me. The hospital staff are more humane and helpful and just could not forget the friendly attitude of the doctors as well. Needless to mention the charges levied by the hospital is much less than the hospitals in the town but the services rendered are a step above the rest..
A dental College and a Nursing college is also situated alongside this hospital. Considering the location, and the infrastructure available and the commitment of the management, this hospital is going to grow by leaps and bounds in the coming years, in terms to facilities and services offered.
