Hi the AVG anti virus software seems to be great one I have used both macfee & Norton which are both taxing on the performance of the system.
This one seems to be a better on ....at least as of now .........more over its a free software ...........will give more indepth review once I come across the usability & effectiveness of this software.

Once downloaded you need to update the dats which can take some time. The user interface is simple & plain vanilla looks ........no Jazzey looks.

It has a mail scanner , Update Manger, scans shell extensions, has a scheduler,Scan All Files, Scan infectable files and selected types of documents, Always scan files with following extensions and Exclude files with following extensions from scanning are not available in the AVG Free Edition.
