Even though I watched this movie a few days after its release it took me a few weeks to decide to write a review on this movie. I'll have to say that my expectations from this movie were a bit too high mainly due to the star presence of Big B, Anil Kapoor, Preity Zinta, Gracy Singhand Honey Irani. In spite of the movie not living up to my expectations I thought in the end it wasn't a bad movie. Here is my school of thought
Plot
This movie is about an ambitious doctor(Amitabh Bachan) who has a dream of making his hospital one of the best in the world. His biggest hope for the fulfillment of his dream is his hardworking son, Akash (Anil Kapoor) also a neurosurgen in the hospital. Akash falls in love with another doctor(Gracy Singh) working in the same hospital. But wait, Preity Zinta falls for Anil Kapoor( I wonder if its possible) and because Preity Zinta is the only daughter of an extremely rich businessman (Randhir Kapoor)and Anil Kapoor's hospital needs funds and donations, Preity thinks she has a good chance of getting married to Anil Kapoor.
The rest of the movie is about:
A lot of successful operations.(Of course, our Anil Bhai is operating)
Whether or not Preity Zinta gets married to Anil Kapoor?
Whether or not Amitabh/Anil are able to fulfill their dream?
If Preity does gets married to Anil Kapoor do they live happily everafter or does Anil gets back to Gracy Singh?

PROS
The subject of the movie is something we haven't seen(at least I haven't ) in Bollywood. I can't recall another movie made on doctors. Amitabh Bachan is excellent as always and Anil has given signals that he is here to stay in Bollywood. Gracy Singh is impressive and Preity also comes up with a good performance as a spoiled daughter of a rich businessman. The movie is realistic and the songs are well placed in the movie.
CONS
The movie is not well paced, it tends to get boring and once the first half is over its very predictable. Also the music is simply ordinary. The climax is not at all impressive and after watching the complete movie, one feels that its a typical bollywood love story, the only difference being that the lead roles happen to be doctors instead of students, mawalis, or businessmen.
CONCLUSION
Overall, its a good debut attempt by Honey Irani and we can expect better movies from her side. Its a decent family flick and if you put the expectations aside, I think its a movie worth watching. Therefore I will like to recommend this movie to my fellow MS members and readers.
