Why mac?. Review on Apple Power Macintosh G4

Its a real shame for Apple computers for their poor marketing strategy in India. Anyway tat doesnt stop its presence in the professional level but certainly in the personal use. So why Mac? Why most professionals prefer Macs than PCs?

The OS:

Your on a recording session and recording a song on a digital mixer via Protools(a software for editing and mixing) and its 2.00 in the night.You want to finish recording and mixing the song within 24 hours.The Guitarist is playing his final Lead piece and there goes ur BLUES...Im not talkin about the genre, but the PC showing a blue screen...What else windows is hanged and u need a restart...In frustration u ask the player to play again and your rebooting your PC just to find its NTkernel.exe is corrupted...Oh God...in pain and agony with heavy eyes you search for your windows CD and copying the files and after one long hour you start the recording again...the result you end up paying extra money for the player the studion not to mention ur mental torture and loss of sleep. PC is ok for personal users and Gamers but not for professionals.They need something which is very stable and reliable on which they can trust on...Tats where Mac OS stands for...

The Hardware:

Many say tat Mac hardware is not so good as their OS. But then not every software will prove the power of G4(G5 is considered the fastest computer in the planet!).U cant judge one product by bechmarking(a benchmark program is one used to calculate its performance) it.It has to perform with various demanding situations.May be PC can match Mac when a single application is running but when we burn DVD and mix something and browse at the same time u will know how Mac can handle.U can just dream of doin tat in a PC.The quality of the Hardware is very good coz they are the only manufacturers around.So no need to worry about the bad Hardwares and stuff like tat which is playing in the PC arena.

The looks:

To be honest I love the Macs look more than their performance.Its a masterpiece itself! The thin LCD display with its transparent cabinets will suit any room!Its very C O O L!

With the introduction of E macs and I macs the price is slowly getting down.With availability of more softwares and due to its stability and protection against viruses, trojans and other spyware softwares, this is the machine to buy.Im sure the Indian home users will surely catch up with the Mac mania just as the US & UK are in.
