.:Get Touched by iPod Touch:. Review on Apple iPod touch

Touchflo - That’s the buzz word in the town now a days.First there was HTC touch phone creating buzz and now there is apple iPhone and iPod

Touch ready for possession and next big thing coming using Touchflo is Microsoft’s Surface, where you can select your restaurant menu, transfer files from one Bluetooth device to other just on a flip of your finger.

Well more on Microsoft Surface later.

Lets discuss about my latest gadget iPod Touch after my Panasonic FZ 18(Check Review -  https://mouthshut.com/review/Panasonic_Lumix_FZ18-134777-1.html), Sony Erricson K810i(Review in progress).

Touchflo is simply a technology which will just keep you mesmerized all the time you are in touch with it.

iPod touch being new member in the iPod family it’s no different in sound quality as such, but what makes the difference is its 3.5 inch screen and simplicity to use it. I haven't used iPod before so I am really not in position to compare it with other iPod's feature.

All these application are well arranged on the opening screen just like icons placed on Mac OS.I must say the interface is simply breath taking.

Music Player.

Music player arranges all you music files with different options like playslist, album, and alphabetical order. Just touch the song you want to listen and there it is. While song is played you can scroll to all other songs in that album as well as you can set entire album on shuffle mode and/or repeat mode. Just rotate your iPhone and it will turn to album art mode where you flip different albums and can select the songs.

Video Player.

For using video player you have to convert your videos to iPod compatible format using some third party software’s like cuesoft.About video player there is one good thing and one bad thing. Good thing is that you can do a setting for video to start next time where you stooped it. And bad thing is that it’s quite cumbersome to scroll through video. Slide control for scrolling is bit unmanageable or may be I am not used to it.

Photo Viewer.

This is also a quite good feature in iPod and I guess it was not in any previous of iPod's, though I am not to sure about it. The coolest feature of the photo viewer is when you want to enlarge the picture just

iTunes.

iTunes is like on line music store inbuilt. Because iPod touch has in built wi-fi system as soon you tap on iTunes you are asked for connecting to network and as soon you are connected you can view the music available online on iTune, categorized by featured, top ten etc.You can preview the music available in the category and if you want to download you can download it by paying the amount. On the whole good thing but not for Indians as no Indian song is available.

Safari.

iPod touch is embedded with Safari browser for surfing and as I said iPod has inbuilt wi-fi, it’s just a breeze to connect to internet and surfing.

You Tube.

When connected to you tube you can watch any video uploaded on you tube and you can even download it on you iPod touch. Again all the you tube videos are categorized into featured and most viewed ones. You can also bookmark the videos for later viewing.Good to get connected and download your favorite song.

Calendar, Contacts, Clock, Calculator.

These features are nothing more different with any advanced mobile phones, of course the interface of iPod touch makes a wide diffrence.You can synchronize your outlook calendar with iPod touch calendar plus you can even import the contacts from your address book of outlook.

Clock and calculator are also good to use but not much important as in iPod.

Settings.

There is a setting menu for almost every individual application/feature on iPod touch. You can customize mostly used feature according to your need.

Overall.

iPod touch is a very different experience and worth a TOUCH [/:)].Though some times using some of the features may feel campy because of space constraint or may be take time to get experienced.

iPod Touch as of now is coming in 8gb and 16gb capacity.8gb iPod priced at SGD 485 and 16gb priced at SGD 650.
