Thanks to you: If after God, there are any I shud be thanking over this Ipod they are the MSians like you. Poocho kyun? Ask why? Because I got this Ipod as a contest prize from MS & this wudnt be possible but for the esteemed non-participation from many of u ;-)
Meet Ipod: it’s a music player from apple. Though MS categorizes it as ‘software’, its an hardware product, unlike wimamp which is a software music player. Very compact in shape, very high on effects & battery life, this can also be used for data storage, as well as for ‘womanising’ as seen from below experiences! ;-) I have never been a music buff, but after this ipod entered my life, I do use it a especially lot while travelling. Mine is a silver one, but I am sure its available in colors like blue, red etc .. besides the pink version for the pinkies ;-)
Affair1: It was one of those train travels where it was ‘main aur meri tanhayi’ for company. I scan the copassengers, among them is a woman, age around 40 but extremely beautiful. My Ipod began to sing ‘Abhi Abhi mere dil mein khayal ye aaya hain.. ‘ & soon our eyes met & it was “aankhon hee aankhone mein ishara ho gaya, baite baite jeene ka sahara ho gaya” I called her to come near me. She felt shy bcos the society was watching. Then I called her indicating that I am using only one earphone of the iPod, she came, sat next to me, Our hearts & the ipod sang together “tu mile dil khile aur jeene ko kya chayiye”. The society watched in jealousy, but then ‘pyar karnewale kabhi darte nahin.. “ she left me after a while! As I recover u can have a technical break.
Size: This is one of those few things men/women have no problem having small! With dimensions 1x1.6x0.4 inches & 16gram weight, this is smaller than most of the sweets we eat. The clip attached it to any place/cloth u want. The memory size is 1GB, which translates to up to 240songs or 1GB of data ( upon selecting it as a storage device) .. more after a romantic break ;-)
Affair2: soon enuf I was on my next jurny singing ‘musafir hoo yaaron..’ . This time for company was another family who had a girl aged 24. Though I tried my level best not to fall in love, as I had realized from my earlier travel “kasme vaade pyar wafa sab baate hain … “ I lost my self control when the first signals came from her. She not only gave me smiles, but also wanted to sit next to me, as mine was window seat. Again I fell in love with her innocence & sang ‘tujse naaraz nahin jindagi …. ‘ After enjoying the window seat & my ipod music she too left me, but this time I didn’t cry for I knew “ab tere bin jee lenge hum, zeher jindagi ka pee lenge”.. I need a audio break ;-)
Audio & controls: audio control on the device are play/pause, volume up/down & song next/previous as u can see in pic. For playing the options are continuous or shuffle, which is selected thru a slide switch. Similarly there is an on/off switch. AAC, mp3, wav formats supported. Since there is no video screen, the menu selection or playlist selection is not possible. 2 cute headphones soothe ur ears with music, but at full volume can harm ur ears too. I prefer without video screen as music is best when heard & also with a video screen, a lot of battery is spent on editing or viewing playlists etc.I prefer leaving the headphones over my ear, like carpenters keep their pencil/beedi on their ears, that way neighbours can also overhear the song a liitle bit, as I did below. Also when surroundings are silent, the music output is strong enough, that you can hear it from 3-4ft away. I use this mode, if I have to hear a song or two just before sleeping.
Affair3: ‘Jindagi ka safar, yeh hain kaisa safar’ soon had me on train & I was humming ‘koyi na koyi chayiye, humse pyar karnewala’. As if an answer to my song, came an angel of a lady aged around 30 & I was like ‘tuje dekha toh yeh jaana sanam’. I used the ipod earphone & the songs to get her into my arms. We got so close that the ipod sang ‘yuhi jindagi ke raah mein mazboor ho gaye, itna kareeb huye ki hum door ho gaye’. Soon her parents drag her away from me, as they have to get down. She promises to meet again, I say ‘milne ki koshish karna, vaada kabhi na karna .. “ she didn’t keep the promise, but I will! ;-)
Requirements: The ipod communicates with ur PC via the itunes software. Connect ipod thru the USB port. Windows vista/XP are the supported OS. One draw back here is one ipod can only be configured for one PC. It doesn’t communicate with several itunes on different PCs.
Battery/Data Storage: the built in battery has a span of 12hrs. I have used 8hrs non stop. The charging is thru USB port. At a cost a separate charger is also available. The LED indicator shows battery status with various colors. To full charge needs 4 hours. In the itunes interface there is an option to use the ipod for disk usage, which allows it to be used as a USB drive. Here again you can set how much space for data & how much for music storage. I use it a lot for moving files from one PC to other, carry files etc. I know u are waiting for Affair4 ;-)
Affair4:By now I was of the opinion that ‘Eisa zaqm diya hain, jo na phir bharega, har haseen chehre se ab ye dil darega’ but then on my latest jurny I see in front a girl who is 18 & at the peek of her teenage rebellions. But I could see from her eyes that she was a good girl, & soon our eyes met. “aankhon mein teri, ajab si ..” soon my heart began to fly like a kite. Thanks to my ipod soon she was next to me ‘na dhaaga hain na .. chali aayi voh meri or’. She was all the more beautiful when she was closeup & I became a poet. ‘main kahin kavi na ban jaaoon, yeh teri pyar mein kavita’. Her eyes were not lit up according to the beats my ipod fed into her ears. ‘jeevan se bhari teri aankhe, majboor kare .. “ & I did everything to please her “jo tume ho pasand vohi baat karenge” .. it was pure love until a certain station came & they had to get down. I sang ‘hum bewafa hargiz na the… “
Conclusion: if you bothered about only hearing your fav list of songs go for it. Its available anywhere between 3-4K. even cheaper abroad.
Ps: 1) please do imitate the above acts of flirting after reading the next point!
2) All ages mentioned are in months!(being monthly salaried aam aadmi counts age in months) ;-) Also not only girls I also attracted guys of similar age.. But due to lack of space & the recent trends of impressing women, I have not included it. ;-) be warned that if u try the above with girls aged similar, but in years, you may end up with a ‘eye-phod’, courtesy her brothers/husbands ;-)
3) Results vary from person to person, mine were under standard factory test conditions of love, innocence & trust ;-) also the above girls were 'uneducated' ;-) so they fell for the ipod !!
