When Steve Jobs set out to build a beautiful product, he let in a deal of interesting business advice - Go for what the consumer considers beautiful – and that’s what I found the Apple iPad to be. I for one have always believed that machines are for man’s purpose of use, not the other way around. To that end, Apple’s products always seem to serve those intentions.

The Apple designers have always had that direction of understanding what Apple’s consumers’ demand of Apple’s products. In that endeavor, the product retains what major earlier Apple products like iPod and iPhone have made billions about. I use an iPad2, which I admit now, although a bit ashamed to say that I delayed in joining the “Cult of Apple”. It’s easy to explain why people love this product. I will list those as 3 articles of devotion to Apple:

*- Consumer predilection

  • Usage know-how

  • Typical Handle*

Consumer Predilection:

The consumer is no more a part of the buying process of a product, than of a selling one too.

That one statement says what Apple has achieved with its products; Understanding that their consumers will sell them on. The iPad 2 seems like “on the feet thinker” when one takes a wide picture of the responses it gives to its users. For instance:

Click on a Twitter link and an internal to Twitter browser opens it, however it also provides another option to make it open on a browser which for many makes the system seems adaptable for reading with the inbuilt Reader mechanism of the browser, which provides enhanced views and big and brighter pictures.

It may be common place today, to see a Twitter or Facebook feature on every webpage, but on videogames, to browsers, to almost everything you use on Ipad 2, including the iTunes, iUniversity, makes this such a handy version for people to share and express their usage of Apple.

Usage know-how

“Unfortunately, Nobody knows what the Matrix is all about, you have to see it for yourself”

One could say the same about iPad’s touch usage. I will give credit to only the iPad which makes the touch screen technology rampant in usage in today’s date. And it is this technology that, if as, borrowed a line from the great Matrix movie trilogy epitomizes the very accurate design.

Without getting technical, the only thing one understands most dearly is the variety of tasks that one can perform with just two fingers on the screen, example: Cut, Copy, Paste, Magnify…. And the list could go on… about playing games, typing into screen and so much more..

While the iPad doesn’t suffer from what other monstrous products suffer from that is presumption or lack thereof of usage of their devices, the Apple knows what exactly is user preference is and what is generally called by Industry Designers “User Interface Design” into very small and simple interaction between man and machine.

The Apple designers have made sure that almost everything including the very own “Apple iPad Apps” seamlessly work with finger touch.

It makes the scrolling through or browsing through notes also appear rather simple, like turning pages of book.

The other most inventive piece of Apple design is the rotation of screen to face the user, so wherever you are, you don’t shift, it does, it knows how.

Typical Handle:

Most devices we have used right from the Phones, Laptops, to Microwave Owens to Washing Machines, one worries about durability, resilience to constant handling and mishandling (too), service and maintenance. To some within the Apple following the device is another handy tool in day to day life, it adds with it the experience of a computer, behaviour of a phone and presents itself as a beautiful and intelligent device.

When one experiences Steve's work, be it the access to music from  IPod through the iTunes Store or the daily feasibility of an iPhone and perhaps someday the Apple TV, one can only wonder what brains were at work and the judicious understanding of how the diverse Apple users will experience the Apple products.

The Apple iPad with a battery, charger, SIM card ejector pin (which will help one insert the micro sim) and beautifully arranged manual, all packed in a white box, doesn't quite completely presents the intelligence behind Steve's work.

With the iPad one doesn't need to replicate their contacts from the other products of Apple like the iPhone.

Also with the iPad comes the integration of iTunes and the very famous among the cult of Apple, the App Store.

It also comes with various features of the iTunes University and seriously useful apps which make the usage of human memory in daily like an obsolete concept.

To that end of resilience, the iPad comes connected with the Apple's offering of Cloud Technology called iCloud, allowing the user to store and retrieve from any of Apple's products. For instance, if a song downloaded on iTunes was stored on iCloud, you could open the iPad and find that very same song integrated into iPad via the iCloud. This becomes a very convenient feature as "smart" applications become rapidly in use in the near future.

Apart from that  seamless integration in Apple family, one can always trust apple to not infringe upon your privacy as there are many settings to choose that help the Apple user. Furthermore, Apple device updates can happen regularly and without any need for the user to be disturbed frequently with them.

Also one does find the apple inbuilt Genius Feature quite handy when it comes to downloading the right applications from App store. It reads the usage patterns effectively and suggests the right apps that do much to enhance the day and also one's experience with the iPad.

There is no doubt, that although I never had to service my iPad so far, the Apple stores across any corner of the world would help me find that solution to my iPad problems. To sum up, It sure does help to have iPad handy with your travels along the life..
