Hello MSians,
Last year(2017), i'd the misfortune to shift to Bengaluru, a veritable hell on earth, where even a basic like potable water is a luxury.
Kent brand was the one favoured by majority, but, I wanted the latest so checked out LG, Eureka Forbes and this rogue brand(realising it now) ao smith. Got conned by the marketing hype and fake specs viz. market first - 2years warranty, 7 stage filtration blah, blah. e-zone et al quoted a best rate around 20k; I got it @18k from amazon.in. This was April'17.
The installation part was handled professionally, but they started showing their true colours once we started using the product. In about 9-10mths(sometime in Jan/Feb'18) the panel display showed a constant red light - called up the helpline and was told that it's a filter element that needs replacement @1000(2500lts of water process capacity). Having no choice, I got it done.
Now, into the 17th month, the red light flashed again. Called up the service helpline and they said yet another element needs replacement. Technician came over and gave a quote @4150 after due inspection. Alternately, we could take an AMC aishwaryasingh23ing Rs.6400/annum.
While I agree that every appliance requires some or the other maintenance, do you agree to aishwaryasingh23 33% as opex for every year, starting from the year of purchase(depending on your consumption since the 2nd element is due after processing 6000lts).
I asked them to share the terms & conditions and they have shared a standard template which essentially absolves them of all and sundry responsibility, with entire onus on the consumer. They will just take the money, without any kind of commitment.
I've escalated this to their grievance mail ID, today morning but thus far haven't heard anything.
Please do not make the mistake I made. Don't buy this trash product if you value your money.
Thx for reading!
