Today we visited Ananchi restaurant for a relaxed lunch. Following are my personal experience.
Location: Located on Kammanahalli main road close to outer ring road, opposite to Good Year English School, between HRBR Layout 3rd and 2nd block. Very easy to locate. Adhishvar's show room is also co-located in the same building in G and mez- floor
Ambience:
Very nice soothing ambience with vintage type pillars and carved wooden artifacts. Looks good. Seating arrangements was nice and cozy corners too are available for that little privacy.
Parking facility:
Bikes can be parked near the hotel. Car parking is not a issue as ample space is available in front along the road. Type of food served is predominantly Madrasi or Chettinad type.
Food:
Madrasi type Veg meals available (INR 48/-). Food served was not that hot even at 1.30 PM peak time. Side dish that was ordered was the ''Days Speciality dish'' -Mutton pepper fry (INR 100/-) with more bones than mutton and it was cold. I did not expect this cold treatment from a hotel projecting a upmarket outlook.
For the taste - I give them 2/5 rating. In comparison to Nandini and Amaravati's (off MG road) - Annachi needs to improve on its taste and make sure that the food served is hot and fresh.
Perhaps I am biased with Andhra type of food rather than the Chettinad taste. I will write more about this restaurant as I visit them in future for other items. It is pretty close to my residence and for those days when I feel bugged to take my car out - I would checkin at Annachhi for a Chetinad food.
Have a good time.
Update (23-Feb-2006):
We visited Annachi for a weekend dinner with family. My appreciation for the new captain who took intrest in serving us very well. The food was much better and tastier than our last visit. We tried Appam with Sweet coconut milk and later with Mutton curry. Both were really good and tasty. Prawns biryanni was a bit spicy but too good. I intend to try this dish again. Mutton biryani too was nice but Prawns B was the best. Evening ambience is much better and very pleasing and peaceful. Do try Rasmallai sweet dish as a dessert. Overall a very nice weekend outing.
The service personnel too are very well behaved.
