This message is to share about my recent experience of buying a Laptop on Amazon India e-commerce platform. Infact I have been purchasing various electronics and consumer durables from Amazon but lately I am very displeased with the purchase of the laptop “HP Pavilion AMD Ryzen 5-3550H 15.6 inches FHD Gaming Laptop 15-ec0106ax” Order# 404-0010331-0847520 on 26th Aug 2021 – Invoice value Rs 63, 990/-
The seller Appario Retail Private Ltd did not provide the Microsoft Office License along with the package
I have checked with outside authorized HP dealer. They have this as old model and Microsoft Office License(Student edition) comes free with Windows OS 10 as a package also the retail price of the laptop is Rs 51, 000/- without exchange.
The following are the issues
1.Seller did not provide the Microsoft Office License.
2.Price much overcharged than market price. Also, the model 3550H is outdated. Ryzen5-4600H is already in market and performance much better than 3550H.
3.Laptop stability & performance having huge lag. Simple applications like Web browsers e.g. Chrome, Microsoft Edge, crashes and restarts in the middle of usage. Many applications are unstable.
4.Battery life is very poor. Battery age shows 8 months when Laptop is purchased on 26th Aug 2021.
I reached out to Amazon customer service representative for some assistance to get the Microsoft Office License from seller(which is supposed to be part of the package out of the box). Infact the customer service agent and his manager made ridicule of me saying Amazon does not support any “out of the box, under the box after replacement window is over”. Instead of any assistance to get the license for MS Office, I was repeatedly discouraged so that I do not reach out to Amazon any further. I really did not expect this kind of treatment.
My trust on Amazon has dropped many notches and the kind of unprofessional ridicule I faced almost felt like being targeted for reaching out for help. I am sharing this with you so that you can take informed decisions regarding costly equipments like Laptop, Mobile etc. In physical stores there are very good offers and they are offering decent exchange price.
The Dussehra/Diwali offer pricing is very reasonable with computer dealers. Please explore these options before purchasing from Amazon. Once you purchase and the replacement window(7days) is over, Amazon India will not help you even if warranty is there.
For me, I have lost my hard earned money on this pricy junk and deeply hurt by the irresponsible response from Amazon customer support because I have trusted more than I should have. My humble request for trying to get help on the missing Microsoft Office license was met with ridicule where Amazon employees clearly iterated that they are not liable and demonstrated Amazon’s such low standard for their business operation.
As a well-wisher recommend you to please exhaust all options of purchasing Laptop/Mobile from your local dealer before purchasing on Amazon at your own risk(Buyers Beware).
