Amazon should Improve OR get Shut! Stop Scamming

Amazon lately for almost a year and half(Since 2023) has been very pathetic in their service. This is my personal experience that I am sharing here since I have been a Prime member for a very very long time and unfortunately after facing so many issues which took so much of my time in following up for every other product I had placed order for, I finally came to a conclusion of cancellation of my membership and refund the balance.


Here are the problems that I have faced in last 1 and half year in all the cases of undelivered items.


1. 60% orders did not deliver: I always place prepaid amount orders from Amazon and 60% of my orders do not get delivered and return automatically.


2. Varieties of false reasons: Return orders always have different remarks by Amazon team.


a) Delivery Delayed and never delivered: we will attempt next delivery on so and so date(but they do not deliver and then return it finally to the seller)


b) Product delivered - Handed over to the resident. But in reality, the item was not delivered where in I am there at home all day, nobody tried to reach me, bell didn't ring. I sometimes do not check subscriptions orders messages but they deliver on their own time. In such case I miss out on the information unless I go and check because we do not get text messages updates on that.


c) Instead of Attar, Delivered a wrong and suspicious object by Amazon fulfilled delivery(Which means Amazon delivery agent).


Once I had placed a very first order from my Friend's newly registered Attar store on Amazon to initiate as a first order. Because the seller was my friend I know the story. First of all order time was 21 days date and finally when I had received the order very late at around 10 pm. I found a very suspicious object with open wires which really scared me, and my first thought was, is it a bomb? I am still not aware what kind of item was that and I called customer care immediately, they asked to upload a photo of the same in the complaint section, which I did and they said it is really something different, we are immediately initiating the refund and kindly discard the item you have received because nobody will be coming for a pick up.


After this call when I again spoke to my cousin, he said he himself packed and sealed the attar in the box, how is that possible, He later asked me if the box was tampered, I sent him the picture and he mentioned the packaging was wrapped in a tape abruptly, this is now how he used to tape the box, which means the box was tampered during the delivery by Amazon agent. I got my refund immediately but my friend did not get the payment amount because as the amazon team had put all the blame on him/my friend/ seller. After this incident my friend had cancelled the Amazon fulfilled delivery and changed to his own delivery agent which also took a shorter period of time for delivering the parcels.


d) Another incident, where my order again was not delivered on time. I followed up the Amazon Customer service they mentioned Delivery agent will attempt the delivery again in a day or two or we will refund the amount, you do not have to worry or call. I at least trusted Amazon on this part that they always refunded the amount immediately when called or even if product was not delivered. But this time the limit was crossed. When I was facing issue with another order placed on 31st July and I was checking last few orders that was not delivered to identify how many times the orders were not delivered. I found that the order I mentioned in the beginning of the point no. d) which was not delivered, the amount for that was not refunded by Amazon team


Now I wonder amount for how many orders were not being refunded as I used to place minimum 5 to 7 orders monthly. And tracking most refund was not possible as sometime Amazon sent the refund message and sometimes not and not everytime I can call my bank for an updates or reference numbers.


So when I called the Amazon team and asked for the refund reference number, they were unable to give and they kept me confusing for almost an hour after which when I lost my temper and they initiated the refund and shared the ref number.


E) I finally decided to cancel the 5 days old renewed Prime membership and refund the amount for Prime membership as well as the 1 order that was placed at the time of renewal which was again not delivered. But for this also I had to follow up on call for 3 days regularly and I did not get proper solutions and when I lost my temper and decided to contact the CEO of Amazon via LinkedIn, I finally got the refund for both Prime membership as well as Order that was not delivered.


This is the Tragic ending of my membership story with Prime.


Conclusion: I believe the Founders and CEO's should check what is happening with Amazon, I am sure the sales number must have fallen down but revenue must has not decreased so much as Amazon is scamming customers by not taking initiatives of refunds of undelivered items and looting sellers. If this is happening with most customers or sellers even once a year and that means what a huge amount of scammed amount has been produced my Amazon.


I believe there should an action taken on Amazon, frauds should be identified or Amazon should be SHUT in order to beware from the increasing number of Scams.
