Hello ! Amrita,
Your review was nice reading.
You made an excellent decision
by making a hasty retreat from the store.
Well, let me share my experiences with this brand.
Last year, I wanted to overhaul my sets of trousers.
They had outlived their life anyway.
Excited, that I was once again going to buy four trousers at a time.
For a couple of days I could take time from work, so the next day while coming out of a clients office in Theatre Road I saw Allen Solly showroom.
Good, I immediately rushed in.
Yes, in between I had checked my wallet, it was warm & heavy enough to buy me Allen Solly trousers !!!!!
Man, those sleek advertisements of Friday Dressing, struck my mind.
Obviously I was happy & excited.
So,in went, check for my size 30 trousers.
I liked Black, and Blue coloured ones.
Promptly I bought two black ones & a blue one.
From next day, I was happy romping away.
After about fifteen days, while wearing the trousers, I was stunned to see that all over trousers, there were while fibers kind of a thing.
I freaked, probably the either they had not been washed properly or they were not ironed well by our neighborhood
''dhoobi''.
I immediately checked with my people at home, and I was the one who got a good scolding.
Why? well they were all washed in the best of the detergents and in the washing machine.
While here I was complaining them on washing !!!
Next day, I rushed to that neighborhood guy, and complained him that he was not ironing my trousers with care.
Well, he gave his own version, that the trousers were probably nor washed in clean water.
Hence they had all those fibers on it.
Now, I now thought, the cat is of the bag.
I went home, and to my luck my people had the washing machine on.
And my trousers were on it too.
Here is my chance to blast, my expensive trousers, probably around 1300 bucks each,
were handled so poorly.
Hey, before I could say anything, I saw that the water in washing machine was just filled up and detergent put in, along with my trousers.
Well, well I thought better not let the history be repeated and I avoided any further scolding.
Rather, I thought it was prudent I wait for the trousers to be washed.
May be now they would be perfectly okay.
After a while, when I was about to leave for work, I saw my trousers were hung out for drying.
I went ahead to check them out.
Man, I freaked !!!!!!!!!!!!
Those expensive trousers had, again had those white fibers all over.
That trouser was looking as if they were months old.
I was angry like mad.
When I complained to the store, even they did not come up with concrete reply.
As usual, they were beating around the bush.
Dejected, I promised never to buy Allen Solly again.
I believe what actually happened, with those Allen Solly trousers, was that the viscose fibers starts coming out after a while, or may be soon too.
I was terribly let down with their quality.
The company spends so much on advertising, and induces us to pay through our nose.
We pay so much money with a belief
that we have not just invested our hard earned money on a trouser, we have invested in a brand.
But this is what we get ?????
Amrita, my faith that Allen Solly trousers are of very poor quality, was further strengthened, when I saw the same problem with the trousers bought by my elder bro.
In hurry to leave for tour, he bought Allen Solly trousers.
Again, two black trousers.
We have noticed the same problem once again.
It seems that these big brands really taking we Indian consumers on a ride.
May be its time either we consumers accept what ever is being shoved on us, or else these brands give us value for money.
Thanks for reading my views.
Regards
A.B
