When is ENOUGH... is ENOUGH?
Is it 'ENOUGH' reason to leave the man you love and married for years, turned into a savage animal? The man whom you thought will love you forever, lift your spirit up and protect you from all possible danger, is the most dangerous man you ever live with? How can you be sure that sleeping with your husband will not end in a dilemma 'til the next day that you wake up?
How can you tell your parents and in-laws that the man you married some years ago is no longer the man that you thought was your knight in a shining armor but a savage beast of the jungle day by day that you live together?
Is it 'ENOUGH' reason to give up love for the sake of your LIFE and the future of your CHILD, because her dad is a different man already? How can one explain the domestic violence that a woman/wife encountered inside the house, when in the neighborhood the people knows how caring and sweet your husband is?
How can you tell your child that her dad is a growing monster in your eyes but in front of her- a responsible, loving, and caring dad- and as silent and peaceful as the lamb? When is the right time for your child to know that her dad is a doubled-character man? A man that could tickle you to death for laughter or joy, is also a man who could be your murderer anytime of the day or any moment?
When is the right time to tell to your close friends, 'ENOUGH,' when all the while they thought your happy with your husband and all they wanted was to help you get out from the mess that your husband is giving you everyday of you life?
Yes, when is ENOUGH... is ENOUGH? Do you need to wait for the worst to come or wait for one life to be wasted 'til you shout or say ENOUGH?
Yes, enough... is enough because there's so much pain and psychological trauma already for the child when she witnessed before her eyes, her dad pointing gun to her mom. And that even her, was being hurt by her dad already.
Yes, enough... is enough, because when Jennifer cant bear it anymore, she came back for vengeance and killed the man of her dreams...the man who is the father of her child and was once her loving and caring husband. And the story end with ENOUGH reasons to end the life of the man she once adored.
The things I have mentioned above were just some of the situations in the movie 'Enough. But I'm not just here to talk about the movie but the soundtrack as well, that was sung by Jennifer Lopez, entitled, "Alive."
The first time I heard this song, I was so touched that it even made me misty eyed as it reminded me of some experiences I know, that I can relate to the lyrics and the melody of this song. It may not be as cruel as the movie,'ENOUGH' but the pain of being betrayed and the denial of the right of the woman being the wife is something that could raise a question not just in court but even in any religious rites. The right of a woman/wife to be loved, respected, cared of, and being supported emotionally, morally, spiritually and most of all financially. Will it also come to an end when love and respect is already lost?.
It could be my story, your story, anybody's story. And the way I understand the song based on the story of the movie,' Enough.' A woman who fell in love with the man she thought could be her hero. But time changed, then she realized that he is not worth her love anymore. A betrayed and a battered wife, and has a child, she needs to be brave and strong to stand alone even without the man she use to love before. In search for the answer of why things turned differently, she needs to let go of him even it means to break their marriage vows. Even it means loosing the dad of her daughter. She wants independence from the savage hands of her husband. To find her inner self, peace of mind and maintain her self-esteem. To live life without fear that she will be hurt again physically, mentally and emotionally before she could lost her dignity and her right senses.
It's really amazing and awesome how Jennifer Lopez gave life to the song with less efforts on her vocal chords. Her facial expressions, the tone of her voice, her soulful eyes is just right to the song. Her smiles, the way she turns her head so elegantly and her feminine moves, reflects the life story of what's behind this song. She has what it takes to be a brave and courageous woman who can run after the life of any man who could harm her future and her child. She may not be that best singer I have known but I just love her way, her style, her music. She rendered the song well with gusto according to what I expected it to be.
'ALIVE' is a song that will make you think how important to be alive despite the sad plight of your marriage. The power to stand alone even love abandoned you in search for more or someone else. Its a song that teaches us that it is easier to let go of the past, the pain, insecurities, heartaches, or bitterness. And no matter how painful things, people and events that affected your life, it is still a beautiful world to live. There's more reason to be happy, to be contented even just you alone against the world. Even how simple and miserable life is, as long as you do it right, live it right- at the end of the storms, we always knew that there's a rainbow that shine.
And as the song was playing, I can almost hear someone says, "You have the divine animal right to protect your life and the life of your offspring. You have the right to be here, so be thankful that you're, 'ALIVE!"

The song and the lyrics:
Time goes slowly now in my life
Fear no more of what of what I'm not sure
Searching for your soul
The strength to stand alone
The power of not knowing and letting him go
chorus:
I guess I've found my way,
It's simple when it's right
Feeling lucky just to be here tonight
And happy just to be me and be me alive
Love, in and out, of my heart,
And though life can be strange
I can't be afraid
Searching for you soul,
The strength to stand alone
The power of not knowing and letting go.
