I recently booked tickets for my family for a trip out of India - I needed to add the Checkin Luggage to the ticket as the ticket was with Zero Checkin Luggage - I didnt think it would be an issue as many low cost airlines have this option wherein you can book the luggage later and pay additional for this .
I contacted the Airlines they informed me to contact my Agent(in this case akbartravels.com)
IMAGINE MY SURPRISE AND FRUSTRATION - DESPITE REQUESTING THEM TWICE TO HELP ME AND INFORMING THAT I WAS WILLING TO PAY THE ADDITIONAL AMOUNT akbartravels.com DESPITE BEING THE AGENT FIRSTLY WAS SO PATHETIC THAT THEY COULD NOT EVEN BOTHER TO TAKE THE TROUBLE TO FIND OUT WHAT THE RATE WOULD BE PER BAG, OR HOW I COULD PAY FOR THIS ONLINE IN ADVANCE ETC SECONDLY THEY SENT ME A MAIL JUST INFORMING THAT THEY CANNOT HELP AND I NEED TO SORT IT OUT WITH THE AIRLINE DIRECTLY(yeah right! if I knew that why would I be contacting akbartravels.com in the first place?!)
Even if they could not help with booking the luggage the least support that they should provide is help the customer with the links, rates etc to direct the customer in the right direction - isnt that the agents job? and isnt this your area of expertise?
BEFORE I BOOKED THE TICKET I EVEN CALLED THE CUSTOMER SUPPORT AND THEY INFORMED THAT I SHOULD FIRST BOOK THE TICKETS THEN CONTACT THEM AND THEY WOULD ASSIST ME WITH THIS ASPECT HENCE I DIDNT THINK TWICE ABOUT BOOKING THE TICKET - AS I TRUSTED akbartravels as I have used their service before .
BUT GUESS WHAT ! AFTER THE TICKETS ARE BOOKED THEY FRANKLY DONT CARE WHAT ISSUE THE CUSTOMER IS FACING AND THEN IT BECOMES YOUR ISSUE FOR HAVING BOOKED THE TICKETS ON THEIR SITE IN THE FIRST PLACE!
akbartravels.com IS GOOD ONLY FOR BASIC BOOKING OF DOMESTIC TICKETS ETC BUT PATHETIC IN ANY KIND OF CUSTOMER SUPPORT! SO BE WARNED BEFORE BOOKING TICKETS AND DONT FALL FOR THEIR SCHEMES AND FALSE PROMISES!
