AJMER, the city is the destination to the holyiest shrine of ‘KHWAJA GARIB NAWAZ’.The shrine is the most beloved in the history of india.Not only people from india go there but even the people from all over the world come here.The ajmer is situated in rajasthan state of INDIA. The ajmer is the beautufull place surrounded by mountains and it is near to pink city which is Jaipur just a 2hour drive away from ajmer.Ajmer is small city but it is connected to other cities of india by road as well by train.If you decide to take the flight you have to go Jaipur and then cum to ajmer via road.
MY experience:From my childhood I visit ajmer once in a year so I will share my experience and explore each places in ajmer with you.I stay in Mumbai. So the most possible way to reach ajmer for me is either by road or by train.If u want to go by road u should first take Mumbai-Ahmedabad express highway or it is also called western express highway.
Then after reaching Ahmedabad u have to take Ahmedabad-Jaipur highway and u can reach ajmer but it will take minimum one and half day.And if u want to take a train for ajmer then there are several trains for reaching it.The most common trains which I prefer to take is Aravali express, Ajmer-Dadar suferfast and Garib rath express.
These three trains is the most comfortable trains and u can reach ajmer at any alternate or desired time.The train which I took was aravali express which leaves from bandra station at around 9pm and reaches ajmer next day at around 4.30pm.the train journey to ajmer is very cool.The stations which arrives in between are surat, baroda, Ahmedabad, mount abu, marwar junction which are really famous in itself.Surat is very famous for its milk.Baroda is famous for its ice creams.Mount abu is famous for its rabdi and for mountains.So my journey till ajmer was very pleasing.When I reached ajmer I came out of the station and u have to take a auto rickshaw to reach the closest of hotels to shrine.I stayed at Bagh-e-rehmat hotel which was very nice hotel and at an affordable cost.The cost of hotel for one day and night is 700rs which is very affordable with the type of luxury u r getting in rooms.I reached the hotel and took a bath and went to shrine which was really very nice and climate was very cold as it was the month of December.All were wearing sweaters and it was very cool climate.There were too many people all over the shrine and after looking at the people u will come to know the popularity of this shrine all over the world.The shrine structure was very big.It comprises of three big mosques one shrine and many jhopdis for people to stay.The places to eat are little costly but u get good quality and a fair quantity.The few restaurant to eat are zaffran and kaynat where u get both veg and non veg dishes.
The places to visit are quite less .There is one lake which is called anna sagar which u can reached by either auto ricksaw or bullock cart.It is a very cool place to visit where there are small islands which u can visit by using boat.The scenery is very good.The another place to visit is tara garh which is located on the mountains which u can reach either by car or even by tracking.Its a very nice place to visit.There is another place called dhai din ki jhopdi which has its place in history.Which according to history it was made in just two and a half days so it was named behind it.There are certain markets in ajmer which is very good for shopping.One is dikki bazar and another one is nalla bazar. This are famous for shirtings, suitings, ladies clothings and jewelleries.The whole shrine and places surrounding the shrine was build by famous mugal empire leaders such as shahajahan and akbar.
Many celebrities all over world come here frequently to visit the shrine.U might have seen the movie jodha akbar which describes the holy spirit of this shrine in song called khwaja mere khwaja dil mai sama ja.People from all the religions come here.
Many more places to visit when u reach ajmer are pushkar and brahma temples.Pushkar is situated 10km away from ajmer located in the valleys of aravalis.Brahma temple is the temple which was abolished by lord brahma.You can also go to Jaipur which is famous for its pink city all over india it is just an 2hour drive from ajmer.Jaipur is very good city and it has various places to visit.
We stay in ajmer for atleast a week every year and explore all the places of ajmer and all the nearby places of ajmer.Its a very great experience when u go in December because climate stays very cool and scenery is very awesome.I love this place because its very nice in terms of climate, facilities, scenery and cost of the trip.By visiting ajmer u can do both things u can visit the holy places as well as explore the culture, mountains and valleys of rajasthan.
The one place which I frequently visit is swaraj di dhani which is museum type place which provides us the culture of rajasthan.The entry ticket for this place is 250rs per peron.But u will get chance to explore all the culture, food and the variety of people of rajasthan.They show us their way of dancing, eating, culture and everything there.It is quite an interesting place to visit.U should try it whenever u reach ajmer.It is just an 20minutes from the city of ajmer.
I stayed in ajmer for almost a week and explored the every corner of ajmer.During my return journey back to Mumbai my train was Ajmer-dadar superfast which leaves ajmer at 7.45pm and reaches Mumbai next day at around 12.45pm.This is how my journey finished and was another awesome experience of my life. My journey was awesome and I suggest everyone of u to visit ajmer and explore all the places of ajmer atleast once in your lifetime .
