The Disclosure of Aitraaz. Review on Aitraaz

Okay you guys know that I am a courtroom drama fan right ! (Okay if you don?t, now you do !) So this Diwali is a feast for me because two courtroom dramas were released on the same day ( For those who have been in Jupiter lately it is Veer Zaara and the one you are reading. That reminds me of a joke, Ralf Nader hasn?t concided his defeat yet, u know why ? Well he is waiting for Provisional ballets from Jupiter and Mars ! ???lol?.sorry back to the topic)

Anyways so on this Diwali kinda day I take myself and a GAM (Means ?Girl Accompanying Me? ) go to watch a movie in the local next door multiplex (Baroda is sooooo small that everything is next door) and I proudly stand in the queue and ask the guy ?Two tickets for the Veer Zaara please , if no corner seat make it four that we can have some privacy !? The guy at the ticket counter gave me such a strange look and asked me ?Have you been to Jupiter lately ?? Apparently Veer-Zara was houseful a long time ago, it was almost like everyone bought the tickets the day the movie was announced ! ?Now come one how am I supposed to know that? , I told the GAM.

Now you see the GAM thought that I had tickets for Veer thinge and then I probably realised that that was the reason she had accompanied me (Unlucky me !) . But I am not to be blamed. The last time I went to watch a movie it was ?Kis Kiski Kismat? and not only were the tickets available but one guy even offered me money if I took his tickets, how was I to know that I would face a reversal of fortune this time !

Anyways so I offered my GAM an alternative and she had no ?Aitraaz? in watching ?Aitraaz? so there we went for the other courtroom drama.

The Story

For the first time Abbasbhai- Mastanbhai agreed that they had copied there movie. May be Mastan told Abbas, ?Abbas Ab bas?.lets let them the truth !? (I know it?s a silly joke, GAM reminded me that !) . But they said it was copied from an original real life incident and not an original movie like it had been the past so many times . I almost feel out of my chair?.AM making a docu-semifiction type movie ! Then I realized that it was from the Kobe Brayant incident. It did think it would be interesting to watch Akashay Khiladi Kumar as a Basketball khiladi with weird hairstyle. I was going to be wrong ! A few minutes into the movie and I felt a bit of Déjà vu. AM had done it again and this time the lucky one was the film ?Disclosure? starring Demi Moore and Micheal Douglas.

Well now for the story. Imagine your boss is a sexually starved nymphomaniac Priyanka Chopra who has choosen you as the victim ! Imagine you almost had an encounter with her and she wanted more of you ! And imagine she was ready to sexually exploit you however she could ! Imagine???LUCK YOU !!!!

But Akshaybhai had other plans. The apparent Khildai- Ladka of Bollywood (Playboy) has become a male Rima Lagoo, Sati-savitri or a male Alok Nath and decided he had nothing to do with her since he was married to Kareena ! Now the Sonia (played by Priyanka) is no Sonia Gandhi and she will not give up something she could have so she instead blames Akshay for playing games with her and drags him to court for sexual exploitation.

But surprises behold ! Instead of dumping him like a good wife would do, the lawyer in Kareena suddenly stood up and she believed in her husbands side of the story and defended him. The end result a courtroom drama. (I have signed a Non-Disclosure pact with AM so rest you have to watch yourself !)

Performances

Akshay bhai does a okay job in a role that doesn?t suit him, Kareena is pretty good, but nothing would justify her stance. Paresh Rawal is wonderful as usual. But the man of the match (I mean woman, whatever) is the sexy Priyanka Chopra. She is such an angel as a devil that I hoped I was in Akhsay?s place and would have choosen the more sensible option. There is Amrish Puri too as Priyanka?s husband (now you know why she is sex starved !) who is okay.

Verdict

I wouldn?t predict the box office like Taran does but I would say it?s a decent flic and if you haven?t seen disclosure and if you don?t get tickets for Veer Zaara it?s worth a peek.
