Today I'm going to share my personal experience with Airtel Payments Bank. It is a digitised bank where one can open a savings bank account at retailer.
The retailer had told me that it is a zero balance savings account with 7.25% as interest but the information provided was wrong. He took ₹100 from me and told that it will get credit in your wallet. When the account was opened, I saw that it's ₹50 in my wallet. And it's showing that ₹50 is retained as a non-withdrawable amount. That was not a big issue.
Moreover, when I added ₹400 in my wallet just to make a recharge of ₹448, I found many cashback offers. I clicked on avail offers where it was written that 50% cashback will be provided in recharge of Unlimited Data and Calling above ₹149. I was happy indeed. I made that recharge but I was given not even a rupee as cashback.
So, those who are willing to open a savings bank account in Airtel Payments Bank must be very much aware of this fact. Thank you.
