Mera ROD on Airtel

I was very very inspired by the fact that this week is dedicated to Airtel, but only for -ve reviews over Airtel. I do not have any greed for any ROD, FD or FMM, but why not I too just flow in the flow of RODs. Who knows, I get a ROD :P


Well, Kindly do not consider this review as a full-fledged review, as I am writing it in the same way as other RODs are, just pure complaints and communication over them. By rating them as SUs, I am not supporting Airtel, but it's for sure someone from MS is really pid off from Airtel.


This was my personal experience. I took a New Sim Card when I came to Indore for the first time, but I have taken it from a shop, not from sleeping customer care center of Airtel. I provided all the documents, especially since I do not have a local address proof, I provided Address proof on my company's letter-pad. Everything's expected, and the number got activated. It continued exactly for a month and suddenly disconnected. I went to the shopkeeper, he said, some extra security steps is taken, may be because of that the number is discontinued. I should check with the nearby Airtel Relationship Center. I went there thrice, two times there are many guys for complaints and only 2 customer care executives, dealing slowly slowly keeping full track of their lunch times. Third time, I got the chance and asked them, about the discontinuing of my number, and I got the reply, "Documents not received". I was shocked. They ask me to contact the same shop again. I went there and they told me that we have already sent your documents the same day, but they are saying wrong. Now I was literally feeling like a DOG, if shop sent the documents and Airtel didn't received it, then who has eaten all my documents in between. But I continued my visit to shops, and he ensure that he will try to activate the number again. Atlast after 15 days, the number got activated, and it's validity is increased to 10 more years, that's a bonus for me, although all the balance have gone (around RS.200). Now, I come to know why Airtel named their customer care center as "Airtel Relationship Center", since they are trying to make relationships still but not able to, instead they should name it to "Airtel Breaking Relationship Center".


I switched to Airtel from Vodafone (not through Number Portability), since I didn't liked their services and network, which was good here (only network!). I also tried to take a number of Reliance, but they are far more worst than AIrtel, even after confirming the executive about the documents while submitting, they simply deactivated my number saying, "No Valid Documents". I tried Idea once in Pune, but the network was horrible. Till date I haven't tried Aircel, so no comments about them. Tata is the only service provider I can still hang up to, their network is not good, but service is okay, may be because I have taken Tata numbers in my hometown (so no address/identity problem you see).


Hey! I forgot this review is about Airtel. Sorry!! One more story is there, yes -ve one only. Automatically Airtel Radio got activated on my mobile and Rs.30 is deducted. I didn't want to trouble the customer care people (since I do not want to waste my precious time by contacting them), so I deactivated it, although it takes a whole lot of time, as I have to search the service from their IVRS system. Initially it told that no such service existed. You know, their IVRS is chargeable, then their menu is so big that it will take minimum 3-4 minutes, and if charge is Rs.6/min, then you certainly don't want to contact IVRS again. Next month again automatically Airtel Radio got activated and I lose RS.30 more. This time I was furious. I deactivated the service and applied for Number Portability. Within the week, I got a call from Airtel Customer care asking me the problem, I told about this phantom service, which activated automatically. He told that you only have did it sir! Well I don't how how to operate mobile services! He promised to give me a better deal going forward and many more things, about which they haven't contacted yet (I didn't switched the provider, since everyone is same)a. Network is good, but everything else is bad.


So this was my true experience with Airtel. Sorry, I do not have complaint numbers and any other such authentic details to share with you all (like other ROD's have), and I didn't want to mention any +ves or full details about the service provider, since then only I can expect an ROD. WOW! See I have done extra efforts, uploaded the perfect pics also!
