Airtel holds customers to ransom

I took 2 new connections from Airtel after surrendering a 4 year old Airtel connection. Upon surrendering the old connection I took care to clear the outstanding billed amount. The connection was terminated in mid billing cycle, but Airtel did not send me a bill after the billing cycle was over. I called up 121, got the amount outstanding & paid the same.


After sometime, outgoing from my new Airtel nos were blocked, after calling up 121 I came to know that outgoing has been suspended because I have not cleared my outstanding on the old surrendered no. Then I start getting calls from Airtel to clear the payment, next I receive a legal notice from Airtel. I ask for a bill against which I can make the payment, I'm given none, I'm told that no bill can be generated for a discontinued connection. I'M EXPECTED TO MAKE THE PAYMENT BASED ON A PHONE CALL ONLY. I put in a disconnection request for the two new nos.


Next day, I get a call from the retention department, the person clarifies that I have no dues left & that I shall not receive any more payment request calls from Airtel & that I shall receive an apology letter from Airtel within the next 7 days for the harassment of legal notice & requests me to retain the connections. I comply & retain the connections. True anough I stop receiving payment reminder calls from Airtel for the old no. BUT, I RECEIVE NO APOLOGY LETTER.


Recently, outgoing was being blocked on one of my new numbers, when I was on roaming, saying that Airtel does not have all my documents, whereas I have received my new SIM's only after submitting all documents to the ClassicJMD guy who came to give me the connections.


Now I have received another legal notice from Airtel once again asking for Rs. 405 for the discontinued connection 9871894069. I believe Airtel will continue to harass me as long as I stay on Airtel mobile services. Their customer services are truly pathetic in mobile services, in the last 8 years that I have been on Airtel, unfortunate for me, whenever I have called up 121 I was told that I have to call up after 2 more hours as their systems are being mentained/serviced/link down, so they are unable to get my data to help me. Come on please change your stance now.
