I am really impressed with Indian's speed at which it resolved my matters pertaining to money. I was pleasantly surprised to see indian airline's staff's low turn around time when my credit card was charged multiple times for bookings that actually did not happen.
That day I tried booking tickets between 2pm - 3pm. There was some problem with the web-site. I tried booking tickets multiple times but could not book them. Indian's web-site has an option of seeing your bookings under'my booking' section, after you login into the site. I knew my tickets were not getting booked because'my booking' section did not show those tickets.
Next day, I got SMS from my credit card provider bank saying that Indian deducted money from my a/c. I was shocked for obvious reasons!
I dropped mail to Indian expecting a reply in next 2-3 days. I was pleasantly surprised to see an e-mail coming in half an hour from Indian and telling me about transactions that happened, which included both - the transactions for which money was deducted and also for which money was not deducted. They also gave me the referrence numbers for those transactions and told me that the amount will be credited in 4-5 working days.
I was very much impressed by their quick turnaround and quickly resolving this issue. As they said, the money actually got credited in 5 working days.
I was into similar situation with AirDeccan sometimes before that, the only difference being then was I was rescheduling my journey and was paying the rescheduling charges not the new booking charges, but I could manage to get only a part of the actual amount deducted. They have yet to refund 200/-.
On the front of flying with Indian, I have mixed experiences. But, this was the first time I got into such a situation with Indian. And, I am happy to say that their HELPDESK staff is much more sensible than their ground and in-flight staff. So, most likely, your payment related issues will get resolved quicker than getting coffee from stewardess.
