I was on Express flight on July 30. They cancelled it and it took 15 calls to get me on an alternate flight which was Air India 572 on the same day.
When I reached Air India, I tell them I am on the flight, issue me a ticket. The counter manager is Vikas Morey at counter 13, Mumbai Domestic. I am at counter at 3.45pm and I have my confirmation number for Air India. He was not at the counter for 20 mins, He then makes me wait till 4.30pm, serves other passengers who came after me for a flight which is at 6pm. For some reason, he was biased and did not want to serve me. I saw a lady incharge and instructing all employees. I went up to her. As soon as I walk towards her, he jumped of his seat and pretended like he was trying to help me.
And she says, "Ma'am you are very late, we cant issue boarding pass for you". I told I waited for 45 minutes and he was not issuing it. She was not very attentive person. She does not realize that this person has made me wait at the issuing counter for 1 hour. She simply says go to international airport and with any luck you can get seat on AI342(Mum-Chennai- S'pore).
I called Air India express and told them my situation, and they did not help me out even then. Just saying we will call you. The next flight is 4 hours away in some other terminal. And they were not acting immediately.
I got the 9.25pm flight on Air India on my own. I walked into T2, spoke to some supervisor, told him I was helpless and both Air India Express and Air India Domestic have been really shabby to me. He was a patient person and helped me out. Booked me on 925 flight and I got home at 1AM. The only saving grace for Air India was this man at the international airport, I got only his last name - Narayanan.
Either ways, both Air India and Air India Express is off my list. Stick to Indigo or Spicejet. Lesson learnt!
