We booked our first flight with Air Asia while traveling to Malaysia in February. Since we were coming from India, we obviously were taking a flight from KL to other destinations and booked Air Asia flight from KL to Langkawi. To our surprise, we were never told that the flight doesnot leave from the regular airport but frm another airport that is about 45 minutes away from the International Airport. And this was told to us AFTER we booked our NON REFUNDABLE ticket. Hence there was no going back but thank god that we had sufficient time in between flights. But to our horror and surprise just 3 days before we were to fly, we were told that our flight has been PRE-PONED. something, I have never seen anywhere in the world. And when we asked for assistance due to a connecting flight, we wererudely told that Air Asia has a no refund policy, so either you reach on time or loose money. So, as thought, we missed the flight and had to buy another ticket at the chaotic and dirty LCCT Terminal in Kuala Lumpur.
To our surprise, even the second flight that we bought at about 3.5 times the price of our missed flight, was 4 hours delayed. And there was no customer service or any help form the airlines regarding that. Their standard answer on asking anything about the flight used to be -"We cannot help this, if you are unhappy, please go and get your tickets canceled."
Now Air Asia is starting to operate in India so I just wanted to warn the fellow Indians on the games that this Malaysian airline plays with its customers.
If you still want to take the cheapest flight(which they claim they provide) then please try and then come back and add your comments after the experience.
All the best.
