This is the worst hospital I have ever been to. The negligent behaviour and money minded ideology of this hospital has cost us my Mom's life. My mother had diabetes and BP which was well in control. Towards end of February, she got loose motions and her legs got swollen. So we admitted her to this esteemed hospital on 7/3/2018.
After admitting her, she was kept in casualty for almost 2 hours. Till then she was given only 1 injection. After 2 hours, the doctor said we will move her to ICU. We were a bit reluctant as she was quite stable and refused to admit her in ICU. She was then shifted to general ward. 45 minutes over and no treatment started. When we went to the nurse station, the RMO who was there didn't even knew that there is a patient admitted!
Next day we were told that her BP has dropped and she should be shifted to ICU. We agreed. When in ICU, they did all the tests(including hiv test, colour Doppler etc). when we asked what is treatment for loose motions, they said we have admitted her in ICU for BP. Loose motions can be treated once she is stable and out of ICU. HIV test cost on average is rs650. they charged us rs 2500. color Doppler test of one leg is rs 5000(highest I have considered). Simple catheterisation cost notinh more then rs 500, they charged us rs 3500. They charged us rs 10, 725 per leg. Next day evening the bil was rs 85000 only of 1 day.
When we questioned this bill, they argued that the charges as per their hospital and we should not compare them with any other hospital. We can keep the patient here or pay the bill and move out. These were the words of their Operations manager and CEO(Ms Sheetal Choughule).
We could not move her. So decided to continue her treatment.
Everytime when we asked the cost of any test, their any staff's first question was - aapka to mediclaim cashless hai na. Aapko kya problem?
Her loose motions got in control after 8-9 days. By then she had started coughing and breathless ness. SO she was started nebulisation. First it was every 4 hours. On 15/03/2018, I was with her from 3 pm. she was just given nebulisation. After that when the night shift nurse came with dr for round at 10 pm, she said nebulisation was given at 8 pm. Hearing this, I was shocked and informed that she was not given nebulisation after 3 pm. The DR mentioned this on the file and increased her dosage to 2 hourly. Next day we complained about this to the Matron. The entry for nebulisation given of this day on 2 hourly basis was 15. In a day of 24 hours, they had given nebulisation 15 times after 2 hours each! How irrelevant! The Matron said attitude is problem with this nurses. The DR response when we ask about my mom - dekhte hain. usko saans lene nai ho raha. ek-do din general mein rakhte hai. phir icu mein admit karke ventilator pe rakhte hai aur ek-do din.
Her haemoglobin level was decreasing in everyday's blood report. When asked about this, they said we will cover it with supplements. no need of blood transfusion.
On 17/3/2018, her IV flow was removed as her hand was swollen. They did not put other IV main. Her breathlessness increased severely. When we went to inform about this, the sister was busy chatting and did not pay heed to us. Then after some time said, she will make entry for IV main, when we get it from the medical, she will put it on mom and give injection for breathlessness. When we raised our voice and created havoc that don't you have iv main in stock for a serious patient, that time all the nurses came to mom's bed and them moved her to ICU.
Because of less blood supply to brain, she was talking weird things. But the DR said, it is psyco problem.
By then the bill was rs 2, 00, 000 and as the limit of the mediclaim was crossed, they were after us to pay the bill.
Finally we decided to move her to govt hospital on 20/03/2018. That day the DR said why are you moving her? We were thinking of blood transfusion today! The bill was rs 2, 53, 000 and we were asked to pay rs 1, 00, 000. When we met the CEO again and companied about the attitude of DR, nurse and even the attendant, they simply said we will investigate this and we can complain to whoever we want and asked to pay rs 90, 000.
We moved her to govt hospital, the first blood report they checked, they took a decision for blood transfusion but said it is very late now, she should have been given blood when she was in the previous hospital. finally my mom died on 22/3/2018.
Thanks to this AIMS hospital! Let's not speak about infrastructure. The beds were so close that we move inside the 2 beds, we are sure to drop something.
The air bed that was put on her bed to avoid bed sores cost us rs 2000 per day! We later bought it for rs 3500 from medical store when we shifted her to govt hospital.
Medical care - what is that? They only want the patent to be admitted in ICU and then perform the tests by ICU rate and ensure your patient doesn't get well soon.
Please I urge everyone not to admit your loved ones in this hospital - not a hospital, a means to make business.
Giving 1 star because there is on option to give negative rating.
