First of all, as its a remake, definately this review will be compared with the original classic one. The plot remains the same, though there are minor changes in the script which really doesn't works.

Let's start with the Main character, Vijay Dinanath Chauhan. There is no special thing Hrithik did in this movie. It was just another movie with a simple character. This VDC is a low prolific, lacking attitude and charisma and most of the time says nothing. Yes, this VDC likes to be in a silent mode and speaks only what is actually required. There was no signature dialogue for this VDC. VDC character was suppose to be high style, profile, aggressive, even his presence should have been loud enough to make a powerful impact in the screen.

This character swings between a senti Karan Johar style movie character to action packed Mission Kashmir's Hrithik Roshan. And not to mention at the end, in a fighting sequence with Kancha, even after been wounded from all the sides in his body he manages to have 2 push-ups and hangs Kancha at the tree. I wonder if he has got powers from Jadoo. No doubt about that the director extracts the performance from Hrithik, but he should have thought of some better alternative as a lead character.

Recall the dialogue from the film Sholay " Thakur ne Hijdo ki fauj banai hai ". VDC actually implements this plan. He's team is really filled with a bunch of violent Hijdas.

The first half of the movie really keeps you glued to the screen while the second half gets streatched which could have been made a short one. The second half filled with a pieces of typical Karan Johar's senti movie with added action in the last 20 mins.

Rauf lala, played by Rishi Kapoor. This is one of the rare characters that he has ever played in his career. Trust me when I say this, he plays it so well and does full justification to his character that you will actually look out for more from him. This is one point which will make the movie worth watching. He is simple awesome.

Priyanka Chopra, plays the role of Kaali. She is just a filler in VDC's life. But plays good.

Sanjay Dutt, who has a powerful screen presence makes the director difficult for himself with a challenge of how would Hrithik's hero overpower the villain. His scary bald looks with black attire added to the perfection of his character.

The dialogues and punches are good. Ajay atul's music and background score are a bit effective.

Not sure what the director really wanted to show to the audience, who were expecting something more from this remake esp. when you have a powerful subject to re-elaborate. Of course, not all the directors are like Farhan Akhtar. And it's obvious that people will definitely compare with the BIG B's classic. A one time entertainer.

My ratings: 2.5 outta 5
