Yesterday, I came across a very beautiful review on the film by ameenaslam. It was a good, honest, first hand review. Made me think that I should also write a review on the film, which I consider as one of the best in the Malayalam film scenario.

You don't have to be a Malayali to enjoy the film. Such is the beauty of the film. And I would have all people to see this film irrespective of the language. And for all the Malayali?s out there, the film is a must-see.

There was a time when the Malayalam film industry was one of the best in the country. Every actor, director, scriptwriter in the country looked forward to the Malayalam film industry for his or her inspiration. Such was the quality of the films made. And they were immortalized in the sands of time by some very natural acting.

But recently, the film industry had been witnessing a downfall. There has been many cheap imitations of bollywood. But with this film called Achuvinte amma, one can be sure that the film industry has decided to set things right.

The film has Urvashi, in her comeback role after many years. The film also stars Meera Jasmine, famous in both the Tamil and Malayalam film worlds, and has a newcomer as the hero.

The film has a very original theme and is based on the love of a mother and daughter, or so to say. Meera plays the daughter of Urvashi. They live in a small house by themselves and avoid many questions about the father of the child by saying many lies. Meera believes that her mother hasn't been married, and thinks it better not to hurt her by asking about her father.

Now, she falls in love with the guy, who has been orphaned at a very small age. While the fact that he is an orphan makes her love him much more dearly, her mother is not ready to accept their relationship. This rides her of her patience and she leaves home to a friend?s house and demands that she be told about her father.

The very essence of the story is the climax. We are sitting in the theatre thinking what kind of a mother that is, being so stubborn not to tell the child of her father. But the climax is very beautiful with Urvashi telling our hero that Meera too is an orphan and so is she. They had been raised in very poverty ridden slums and had to work many a place. They were to transport to one of the sex traders, but she could escape, and on her way, she picked up a little child. She raised her as her daughter thinking it not better to tell her that she is an orphan.

The film is blessed by some very good acting. The father of one of my friends had done the camera work, and it is not because of that, I am saying that is just beautiful.

And the music is just sensational. It has been on top of the charts even after months of its release. And that too not just in Malayalam. But also in south Indian music channels.

Who would not want to hear those lines again and again '' enthu paranjalum nee ente thallae vave''.

The film is faring well at the box office, which proves that there is always a market for good films.

This film has witnessed a great comeback by the Malayalam film industry, and I hope the trend continues, and more and more such good films are produced which will put all others to shame.
