I do not chew 20 bubble gums at a time. I do not sit in a post-box. I do not scare the wits out of people at parties. I look through the windscreen of my car. I do not walk as if my bones have been exchanged for bubble-gums. I am more civilised than Tarzan. And yes ''I do humans''. (which by the way means, I am not a ''pet''-detective)
I am not Ace Ventura, you see.
Pet Detective -The plot
Don't need it. Who cares about a plot when you have Jim Carrey making you laugh until there is a headache in your stomach (er.. I am not a Biology student you see). Ace Ventura is pet detective extraordinaire. He loves animals more than you love your hair...mmm.. now you got the point didn't you? huh! Snowflake - the dolphin mascot of the Miami Dolphins - has been ''kidnapped'' and its now up to our ''unconventional'' ''hero'' to get it back. What follows is a barrage of funny scenes as Ace goes about his job in his usual unusual style. Lots of back-speaking, shark-eating slapstick hilarity. And yes there is someone called Courtney Cox in the movie - in case you missed her.
There are some scenes and dialogues that might offend certain audiences but since no character is shown smoking, you can rest assured ... and so can the I&B Ministry!
Performances -
No one can do the funny act as Carrey does. A master of facial expressions, he churns out another classic performance. A beauty of his performance is that there is nothing in common between his antics here and the ''sibling flick'' (Einstien created formulae - I create phrases!) 'When nature calls'. No monotonicity, just one surprise after another (even if you have seen the movie umpteen times as I have). Others do a good supporting job too. The lady cop and Cox do not have much to do but come good anyway.
And as for the title, I heard someone say - ''Laughter is the best medicine.'' (and I am a willing patient).
Now since Karthikeyan has finished fourth, I guess you have one more reason to comment, don't you?
