Director – Rajkumar

Screenplay – Rajkumar

Gupta, Neill Dela Llana and Ian Gamazon.

Plot

Dr Aamir Ali(Rajeev

Khandelwal) lands in Mumbai from London,

But his life is never going to be the same again. He is forcibly handed a cell

phone by 2 unknown bikers and the voice from the other end(Garaj Rao) is now

in charge of his life. His family has been kidnapped and he is s sent to major

Muslim Ghettos in Mumbai and asked to deliver and pick up a few things to save

them. All in the name of being a savior for his community. The entire movie is

how one man controls the destiny of another innocent man forcibly, all for a

false sense of belief.

Critic’s Comments

First  the good points. The movie is well directed

and there is no false sugar coating. Debut by Rajeev Khandelwal is good. The

editing by Aarti Bajaj and the cinematography by Alphonse Roy is good. Some of

the scenes in the movie are very well captured. The one where Aamir Ali Pukes

and the climax are well shot. So if everything is good, what are the bad points

? Well, there are no bad points as such but somehow, towards the climax one

feels he/she has seen it all. Climax, although shot well, could have been even

more intensely shot. And the movie could have been edited by another 5-10

minutes. There were some scenes which were not required at all. The restaurant

scene, for eg, wasn’t required. But nevertheless, it’s a honest attempt at

making a good movie. Watch it in a theatre only. Watching it on DVD wont be

half as nice.

Psst –

1)

* Majority of the film was shot outdoors on location. The Muslim Ghettos

is Dongri, Bhendi Bazaar and Grant

Road are real.*

2)

*Shooting was completed in 28 days, although it was tough. With a good

portion of the movie shot with hidden cameras, some of the people were star

stricken when they saw Rajeev, who is a popular TV star, running and once a

lady wouldn’t let him cross the road as she wanted to meet and shake his hands.

That scene was captured in the movie.*

3)

Movie is an Indian Version of the Filipino movie, Cavite.

4)

He was also the first assistant director of the movie.

Quotes

1) "

Kaun Kehta hai ki aadmi apni kismet

khud likhta hai?”

2)

“Yaha unko hagney ke waastey jagah

nahi hai, rehney ko kya degey?”

Oops-

1)

*When Rajeev gets down from the 1st

cab, he is at The western express highway just a few hundred meters from the

domestic airport in Bombay.

However a scene before that when he was in the cab, he is below the Santacruz

flyover which is much ahead of the Domestic

Airport.*

2)

*Rajeev gets down at Grant Road station

to reach Dongri. Dongri is a good 4-5 kms away and he wouldn’t have made it in

a few minutes.*

3)

*In one scene we see auto-rickshaws,

(The one where Rajeev makes a phone call to Karachi). There are no auto-rickshaws plying

in Dongri.*

4)

*When Rajeev is asked to go to Bhendi

Bazaar, the cab driver takes him above the JJ Flyover whereas in reality he

would have to go below the flyover.*

5)

*When Rajeev is calling up Karachi, the time is 6:35

and when he finishes the call its 6:50. And a few minutes before that it was

1:20 in the afternoon. Besides that the phone conversation doesn’t last more

than 2-3 minutes.*
