The film is dedicated to Adam Pearl, son of Daniel and Mariane Pearl.
Story
The movie is based on true story and the script does not deviate from the truth.
Daniel and Mariane Pearl are journalists from USA. Daniel is following the leads of "Shoe Bomber" and before leaving Pakistan, tries to interview Sheikh Gilani. He, with help from his "sources", sets a meeting with Gilani, but is kidnapped in between. Turns out some terrorists planned this for a long time. Daniel is Jew from birth, but very few people are aware of this. Mariane Pearl is pregnant and the couple are expecting their first child. USA tries to negotiate with terrorists who think Daniel is a spy. Meanwhile, Pakistan govt. tries hard to find terrorists and captures lot of key terrorists. But it is late. Terrorists kill Daniel to show they do what they mean to. Mariane Pearl starts a foundation in memory of her husband.
Review
The movie shows the pain and strength of Mariane Pearl. Angelina has shown the best of her talents portraying Mariane Pearl. Irfan Khan, as CID officer, is very natural. In fact, everyone performed so natural that their act really shakes the heart.
There are no bloody scenes or high action scenes. The shots of Karachi are good. There are a few shots of Mumbai too.
Don't go to watch this movie for fun or entertainment or to pass time on weekend. Watch it to feel it. feel the pain of Mariane. Feel her strength. Feel the might of her heart, as forgives the Pakistan and terrorists.
