Hi Buddy,
So are you in search of a bike,
1.Royal, Stylish and Sports within Budget:)
2.Moderate Mileage
3.Easy handling
4.Riding Confidence(For first time bike owner like me)
5.Different from the crowd
6.Commuter, Cruiser and Sports Bike(Believe Me!)
Then Choose SS 125 with no second opinion!
About my bike:
Bought 25/11/2013 on my Birthday for Rs.65300 from Raj Yamaha OMR
Drove 4000 kms in Chennai
Commuting to office(12+12)
Mileage - 50+ in city and 65 on long drives
Top Speed I reached - 105
Driving 80+ most of the times with pillion rider
I drove 500+ kms in 2 days from 8.30 AM to 10.30 PM on both the days.
What people complaint about this.
1.Back pain - It is also a cruiser. When you find a sitting posture which exactly fits for you then you won't ever say it.
2.Mileage - People say 50 is very low for 125 cc bike. But when engine settles on Yamaha bike, you will get same mileage ever after. Shine will give 50 after 2 or 3 years! You can get 50+ forever. But don, t rev more than 4000 - 4500 rpm!
3.Analog - So what? You care about Digital or Analog more than the performance and style!
4.Gear shifting - Yes. But when you used to it, you will feel comfortable.
5.Low pulling power in low gears - Yes if you change 2nd and 3rd gears slowly. Change gear like 2000 rpm - 2nd gear. 3500 rpm - 3rd gear. 4500 rpm - 4th and 5th. Then you will be the first one who flies!
6.Vibration beyond 60 - It is based on the carburetor settings. Set it 1500. Then it will reduce. Clean wheel chain every 700 kms and change oil for every 2500 km. Drive as per manual for the first 700 kms. Then you wont ever feel vibration even at 100!
7.Engine sound at low speed is high - Yes! But feel like you are driving RX100! If you need that sound, drive at 7000 rpm! Feel the Yamaha Sound! But 5th gear 4500 rpm 60 kmpr - Butter Smooth Engine!
8.Skidding/Slipping - Tyre width is small. Disk brake. So have to be careful. Drive at nominal speed. Apply rear brake first and then front brake.
9.Lightweight - Drive slow when wind is there!
If you have any other problem, then contact showroom:)
Don't compare this bike with any other bike and any other segment.
I told you, It is Commuter, Cruiser and Sports COMBO!
