TVS Jupiter - Am perhaps one of the initial buyers of TVS Jupiter from Saanvi TVS in Hyderabad. My review is as follows:
Reason for buying. Wanted to buy a scooter for gear-less riding which is less paining in traffic. Zeroed in on Honda Activa, Suzuki Swish, TVS Jupiter(post waiting for launch period). I already have an active and the new HET prompted me to go for it. But due to sheer arrogance of Honda Dealers and their conditions of sale (accessories mandatory) I decided to check out swish. Swish is 125 cc with its very responsive engine but fuel efficiency kept me out with other reviews out there. Maestro was not considered due to a news article where I read that they are going to phase out Hero Maestro and Ignitor.
I was left with Jupiter for which I wanted to wait till the launch. Piaggio was out of my reach. Buying experience was pathetic from Saanvi TVS with poor accessories (I decided to go in for accessories) and documents delivery part(Temp Registration was given to me after 4 days)
However upon delivery of the bike I was happy to ride it. Looks are awesome with the 3D logo coming out boldly. JUPITER IS QUITE A HEAD TURNER. I have had more than 30-40 people till now(Bike is only 3 weeks old) asking me about the bike, its fuel efficiency, etc. Some of them also gave me free advises as to demerits of authorized service center. :)
So I have done some good marketing for the TVS Brand now. Driven for around 500 kms now. Quality of ride was excellent. Front portion really appeared bigger. Since Jupiter uses the same engine from its successful cousin Wego, the engine power was good and comparable.
Suspension seemed good but it is little hard. But suspension posed no problem as the bike glided through some of the rough patches.
Instrument cluster is good but fonts should have been changed for better reading. They should have gone in for digital console which could have easily set them a class apart in this segment. It also has a unique pass by switch which is generally there in bikes. This feature comes handy while overtaking.
Fuel efficiency is around 50-52 kmpl in city as of now.I think it might improve a bit after the first servicing.
I have not able to figure out the charger in the boot space which the company claims. I do not know whether such a provision exists or not. I think you can go for this bike without a second doubt. This bike can also pose a strict competition to the arrogant Honda brand( arrogance due to dealers)
Make sure that you choose a reputed TVS dealer who sticks on to the word and where customer service is believed in.
I would chip in with more once I complete around 2500 kms.
