Life is all about experiencing new things and getting back to the old things which once gave you a sort of contentment... I remember going to Snow World, Hyderabad in 2006... It was certainly a memorable experience and I was eagerly waiting for my second visit... Though after 5 years, I got an opportunity to check it again... Things change with time and Snow World is no different... It did change...
For better or for worse? Let's find out ...
What's Snow World ?
Firstly, if you aren't aware of it let me give you some idea of what exactly it is... As the name indicates, its a place where one gets the feel of Antarctica, the Antarctica we all have seen in pictures..! With the given jacket, gloves, socks, shoes we step into the Ice Box which has the temperature of minus 7 degrees.. and experience the Ice Age...!
My Experience...
There are times when we just wish to re-live our childhood and may be that's what took me to Snow World... I went there with a dear friend. We bought the tickets at around 11.45am and eagerly waited till 12noon for the door to open so that we were allowed inside the premises ... Once in, we were given the jacket, gloves, socks, shoes that prepared us to enter the Ice Box ... An announcement made us aware of the temperature inside, which was 7 degrees...
The minutes turned into seconds and at sharp 12.30 we were asked to get inside the Ice Box .... It was a thrilling experience....!
Towards my left was a Ride.... Right in front of me were 4 Basketball Nets and loads of air filled plastic balls around... beyond that was a Volley Ball net ... and behind that was a Slide, below it was a shop which sold Sweet corn, Tea and Coffee (Rs. 20).. Soup though was mentioned on the list wasn't available. Never mind, I had sweet corn(Rs. 30), which was hot and delicious... I tried playing Basket ball for sometime and the loud music coming from the right made me aware of the Dance Floor set up with the disco lights... Rock Climbing was something I wish I had tried but the fear of heights stopped me from it :P
In an hour duration we had a lot of fun... There are a few benches there which help you relax when you are tired... The Igloo and Snow Man enables one to get the right feel of the place... There is Photographer there and you can capture a memorable moment by paying him 100...! ;) We were even allowed to go out to the changing area and come in once comfortable...
When we are in the swing to have fun we ignore certain facts and that's what I did...
A Few Facts about Snow World You should be aware of ...
> The Charges are pretty high Adult Rs.360/- Children 240/- and inspite of this they collect additional money for Parking and Depositing the cell phone, camera which isn't allowed inside....
> The Clothes provided stink.. which goes on to prove that good maintenance is something that's lacking there...
> There isn't any locker provided for hang bags, you are supposed to carry it inside the Ice Box ... Something I found very inconvenient ...
It's a Good Place but lacks Maintenance. I really wish the authorities look into these aspects and makes it a more fun filled and fulfilling experience...
There are other added attractions around like Go Karting (Kart Kave), Scary House (Living Dead) etc., which can be chosen along with Snow World in the economical package... (Check the details in the image attached).
