As a resident of Bangalore, I have been to Lalbagh a lot of times, and know each and every place in lalbagh well.
This beautiful botanical garden is located centrally in teh city and is easily accessible from public transport. It has 3 gates, north south and west gates. which connect to different roads. The special time to visit Lalbagh is during the flower shows for which it is famous.
There are flower shows from various nurseries around the state and individuals participating in this. It is held twice a year, once during Republic day and again during Independence day.
All the models etc made of flowers are displayed in the glass house of lalbagh. Otherwise teh glasshouse is empty, but a beautiful structure to look at.
The other things that go on here includes the orchid show, mango mela, grapes mela, jackfruit mela etc., . where the fruits are on sale for a better price from different places and you can find a lot of variety as well!
It has a lake which has been maintained neat and clean. The jogging area is good and you will get fresh air in the midst of the buzzing city!
You can find people in groups walking and jogging both in the evening and morning.Bird watching is fun during nesting seasons!
As a kid I used to collect feathers of different birds from this place. Lalbagh owns a beautiful nursery where you can find different ornamental plants andn seeds. The people working in the nursery know the plants by their scientific names as well!
There is a hill near the main gate which is fun climbing and resting on a cloudy day, it is one of the peninsular gneiss found in Bangalore. Totally Bangalore is proud to own such a beautiful place!
