IOB RuPay - Worst of Worst.. Got Headache!!

Ok so, I just got my new IOB bank account about 2 months ago and got the RuPay Debit card from the Bank about a month ago.


The other Banks Like Indian Bank and State bank are going way ahead as they provide the RuPay card to all the new account opening customers. But this IOB is still the same old crap and still asks for separate form for the Debit cards and even the Mobile notification.


Ok Jaane dho, so filled the forms for the Card and the mobile Notification and finally got the card after 2 weeks.


The Only good thing with card is, I could withdraw money from the ATM and this ATM process is Hassle free.


Now come the worst part. Wat that would be!  Yes, its the online payment.  So to do the online payment, firstly the RuPay registration has to be done. And Frankly I did not know this info!  So while doing the payments at Amazon.in, I faced errors!


So called up their customer care at 180042XXXXX and this is their response -


1) first call at 4:30pm, friday 12th june - A Lady picked and try to solve my issue. She asked me register my card with Internet banking menu. And I did. But Still got the error.


2) Second call at 6pm - A Malayali guy picked up and spoke in broken tamil but he understood my issue and ask me to call up the department number at 044-285XXXXX.


3) called the 285XXXXX - A Lady picked up and said "i have to register RuPay thru RuPay's Registration menu".  She actually first did not know the answers and so she put me on hold and was asking here seniors.  But then later gave me the details.


So I registered with it but the registration kept on failing!


4) Then called them again at 7:30Pm - A Guy picked up and told me their is a server problem and so asked me to try again after 1 hr.


After 1 hr I kept on trying.  But after many attempts, the registration was done successful.


But again, the error on the Online shopping kept on coming!


5) Again I started called them from 8pm - Till 8:45pm, NO ANSWER.  Its was may be their dinner time.  All Idiots gone for dinner with no one on seat to attends the customers.


6) Then called them again by 9pm - And a guy took the call.  I told him the "Authentication Error" and he asked me to go and inform that to my home branch!   Thats Ridiculous.


Then I spoke the TLR(Team Leader) and he apologized and asked me call back 2851XXXX and inform the issue to them.


From then I have been calling them again and again And no reply from them yet.!   My be its Dinner time for them too!


7) Finally got one of them - He was the Engineer Arun, and he told me that they r exp some tech glitch with their servers and so he asked me to try again after 3 days.


8) Tried again on 15 june - Failed Again and again.  So I tried to pay with almost every other website including ebay India, Shopyourworld and even flipkart and they all failed too!


9) Called their 285XXXXX again - And they wer totally clueless and wat else they would say! Yes that rit, they said that the problem is with all other websites and not their card.  So I contacted ebay and amazon and spoke with their engineers too and they all told me that the problem is with my card only.


10) Finally called 285XXXXX again one last time - And explained all detail of problems all over again.  And so the same Arun transferred the call to some one else who probably belongs to "technical" and started to ask me all over again.


He asked me to pay thru "Kotak Mahindra credit card gateway" using the same card!  But I told that idiots that, their was no Kotak payment at any of these payments.  First he was just blabbering.  But then when I insisted, he tried on his own and Finally said "Sir, I am escalating this issue with my seniors and ur problem will be resolved soon".


You u know wat the heck that means! It means, "I am not eligible to do online shopping with this piece of crap".


Now, my Online shopping is screwed because of the garbage IOB Debit card..  I only can use my RuPay Card for Withdrawing cash from ATM and thats all.


I Also hope that "Internet banking" with this crap will also be a mess too.


Overall, So far wat I have known is - Only some of the IOB Branch executive are good and polite but not all.   And IOB Debit card especially the RuPay is way worst.


Story Moral - "It was my mistake to try card for Online Shopping.  So COD wins always".


I hope all Online Online shopping portals are with COD for all the products.
