To a matter of fact it’s high time that every one stop rating Hritik Roshan. I mean he is already been 6 years in the bollywood industry and every one knows where he stands in each of our hearts. Some love and adore him, some considers him to be a waste for the industry (a very few I guess) and some think ya he’s ok. Well I do fall in the third category.

I am not an avid fan of Hritik Roshan. Being a girl of 18, I haven’t fallen for his body or looks. I am not sure any one supports to that fact but, what attracts me more about him are his eyes. I have never fancied any actors eyes as I have for his. Those eyes have a particular magic that changes for each of his character.

Well I thought rather than rating this actor or talking about his negatives and positives, it would be different to talk about him as a person. Many might be known but I do think I can share something amazing.

To begin with Hritik was born to Rakesh Roshan and Pinky on 10th January 1974. His dad named him Hrithik though he most often calls him ‘Duggu’.

He is a Capricorn and his height is 6 feet 1 inch. One of the rare facts about him is that he’s got a double thumb on his right hand for which he had to act as a leftie in the second half of ‘Kaho Na Pyaar Hai’. His first ever appearance on-screen was in a dance scene with Jetendra for the movie ‘Aasha’, directed by his Nanaji in 1980. His second movie was ‘Aap Ke Deewane’ where again he appeared for a dance scene. He was paid 300 bucks for his performance and he bought colourful balloons with them. He also made a small role in Baghwan Dada. He later worked under his dad as an assistant director before he got into movies. They include Khudgarz (1987), King Uncle (1993), Karan Arjun (1995), Koyla (1997) and Karoobar (2000).

Hritik says his best childhood memory is when his dad taught him to ride a bicycle. He admires none other than his own dad and his Nanaji (Mr J.Om Prakash – mom’s father) as his role models. He considers his mom to be his security and he is closest to himself. It’s weird though but he consumes half a glass of coke with any lunch he has, where ever he is. His favourite cuisine is Indian and loves idlies, dosas and vadas.

Hritik does not believe in any thing called inborn talent, he believes that anything can be achieved if you work hard. He says that all he has achieved in life is because of his “hard work” and dedication. Hritik’s favourite hindi flicks are ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Ley Jayenge’ , ‘Kahoo Na Pyar Hai’ and ‘Shoolay’. The English movies that never bored him are ‘Pretty Woman’, ‘Life Is Beautiful’ and ‘When Harry Met Sally’. His fans among male stars are Amitab Bachan, Raj Kapoor, Richard Gere, Steve Martin and Jerry Lewis. And he enjoys watching movies of ladies like Madhubala, Madhuri Dixit, Kajol, Julia Roberts and Hellen Hunt.

He is a lover of black and the only cologne he uses is ‘Issay Miyake’. He is the owner of a pet Persian cat named Tiger. He naughtily accepts that he started driving cars and riding bikes when he was in his tenth grade. Well its not that girls only fall for Hritik but he admits having a very serious crush with a girl named ‘Dimple’ who was his senior by 2 years in his school. Later on he had crushes with so many females though he never went and told them personally. He knew Suzanne from his childhood but they fell for each other when they went to study abroad. It seems that they met there the same way Sonia meets Rohit in ‘Kaho Na Pyaar Hai’.

Giving a glimpse on his filmography, the movie that brought him a break was ‘Kahoo Na Pyaar Hai (2000) { I know, every one knows that, but still…}. This was followed by Fiza (2000), Mission Kashmir (2000), Yaadein (2001), Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham (2001), Aap Mughe Ache Lagne Lge (2002), N Tum Jano Na Hum(2002), Mujhse Dhosti Karoge(2002), Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon(2003), Koi…Mil Gaya(2003), Lakshya(2004), Krishh (2006). He is waiting for the release of Dhoom (II) by Oct this year and he is working over a movie named Akbar-Jodha at the moment.

And talking about his awards, he has won the IIFA and filimfare award for best actor in 2001, 2003 and best style icon in 2005. He also bagged the Zine Zee awards and Rajiv Gandi award in 2004.

Hritik rates himself 2¼ for his sex appeal , 2 ¾ for his talents and 3½ for him as a person out of 5.

Well that’s not a bad way to mark oneself, don’t you think folks????
