Dear Friends This article with the subject - Saif and Rani Pls answer is about the CONS
As promised here I am with my Article on AVEO with all the CONS - I can see smile on the Critics.
People oh sorry STARS like to endorse... Be it anything they love to endorse it WHY?... What a stupid question cause they get paid for that buddy.
So our Saif and Rani have endorsed the all new AVEO.... Just one question to them .. DID YOU GUYS TAKE A TEST DRIVE OF AVEO YOUR SELF OTHER THAN HANGING AROUND THE BONNET OR SITTING AT THE REAR. I am sure your answer will be a Big NO.
Now if you both had done a test drive your would have noticed -
The 2 tone beige interior looks great - But when the sun is shining high the entire front Glass becomes white and you see nothing. ( For the readers - Try this with your car, keep a white paper on the dash board and the reflection comes on the glass) And here we are talking of a whole length of Beige dashboard, which reflects on the Glass badly.
Haven't you noticed the Forward pillar ( I am sorry, I don’t know the exact term for the front pillar on which the side view mirror's are fitted) . Sitting at the driver's seat you can see only ahead - in simple terms you are like a Horse whose both sides are covered so that he does not see left or right and goes straight. One has to really slow down at round about or taking a turn specially a left one cause you just cannot see. Here a smart move by Honda City is they have made part of it of Glass enabling one to see through.
Gears are hard - No matter what one has to say the Gears are hard, one really doest enjoy riding it. If you have liked the car and you buy it, you will enjoy but not so refined. At back of your mind when you drive, you do feel yaar this could have been better. I enjoy driving Aveo as its my choice but my Dad and bro they just hate the feel of it.
Seats at the back have been raised - for so called cinema seating, that the passengers at the rear should be able to see the entire road and etc, etc. What for buddy's ... Look at the shape of the car - the rear of the car is tapering. The head room is a problem for tall persons, specially when 3 are sitting and you have to stick to your side.
The cabinet given in the dash board is smaller than of a Maruti 800. Common sense boys such a massive dash board and such a waste of space.
My dealer from where I purchased my car they just dont have enough space. I just dont beleive it as too how could GM India give permission to these people for opening up a Full fledge Showroom and workshop in such a small space. Its an Insult and disgrace to GM and not to the dealer first, anyone would like to take a dealer ship.
Once I purchased the Car and went on to meet the service department they advised me not to drive beyond 60 Km/Hr upto 5000 Kms.......... What upto 5000 Kms - thats when they will change the oil and than one can go on higher speeds
I was so concerned when will I finish 5000 and when will I be able to enjoy the car... I called up GM helpline 30308080 they said I can very well go beyond 60 but we recommend 80 km/Hr ,, Jesus what is this.......... and The best part the sales Team leader said all this is non-sense I can go on to whatever speed I want there is no limitation.
Now Let me Discuss the Pros under the Subject " Chevy AVEO - The Dream Car"
Though this aritcle of mine is not a complete one, since its just been a month with my Aveo 1.4 LS. We have not taken long drives. So I cannot comment on those factors one encounters on long drives like Driving around or Comfort etc.
To start with AVEO is a gr8 car... Thumbs up to GM, wonderful product. After much comparison with Fiesta, Accent and City I settled in for Aveo and I am sure I have made the right decession. See the fact remains that there are pros and cons in every car or lets say in any living or non-living thing on this mother Earth.
Talking about the Pros - ( In comparison with the Car's I checked out Before Buying AVEO)
Ground Clearance - A much required thing in todays date and Roads - 181 MM Best of all.
With a 1400cc Engine it gives to 94 PS of Power and a Torque of 127. I need not say more - no other car gives you this out put.
Camshaft is DOHC arrangement as compared to SOHC in some of the other brands.
Antenna - This is the cool part - Antenna dundtha rah jayoga. Take a test drive to find out more.
A lot to discuss. You step into AVEO and you are in a world of your own. Fantastic interiors - you gonna love it the moment you are inside. Its look gr8 - My fav. are the AC knob / Door handles / Seats / sunglass holder. I mean the over all impression is too good to define, one has to exp. this one. Its fun to drive but more to sit on the adjacent seat and just enjoy sitting inside AVEO and watch her majestically moving on.
Kick start the ignition and Beast is alive, but mind you Beast is alive but he is quite. Its fantastic you got to see at the RPM indicator to see if the engine is running. Once I gave a second shelf to start when I realized the engine is Running. Now before going anyfurther on this you got to know one thing that this car comes with a VGIS (variable geometry induction system) technology. In simple terms as explained by GM we need less Air to breathe when we are walking and More when we are running. So on a lower gear the air intake takes a longer path and on high gears / speed, the secondary valve provided opens up. This allows the engine to take in air directly at a larger scale - I would say its something like how a Turbo Charger works.
Now what happens is due to this VGIS thing there is slight humming noise in low gears. Nothing wrong with the Engine. Lot of people fail to appreciate this fact. Now the best way to run this machine with my exp. is Make a quick change of Gears - 1st gear is only for getting the vehicle into motion and dont press on Gas in this gear as it will that Howl on top of its voice. Once in motion go to 2nd gear and quickly get settled in 3rd Gear. The is very much driveable in this 3rd gear - with 2 passengers one need not touch gear. You can cruise easily on 3rd gear - at low speed at low as 20 km/Hr which just about enough for crossing speed breakers also. See this is a fantastic engine, only when you are fully loaded one need to go to 2nd gear or else just cruise on 3rd and ones all is clear just go full ahead to 4 and 5th Gear.
In short this is not a Racer's Car for that GM has SRV. AVEO is not a peppy car which will pick up quickly and run ahead of everyone. I remember doing that specially on Red a Signals in my Josh Machine where the moment the signal turne green I used to be Miles ahead of other traffic. Here AVEO is Slow and steady wins the race... once she is on the top gear - you will be leading the way.
So as off now I am happy with my AVEO and will write more once I have taken her for a long drive.
Till than keep reading and writing on Mouthshut.com
