In the backdrop of the Himalayas lies a small beautiful village in the south of Sikkim called Borong, it is scenic place surrounded by trees snow covered mountain and home to some unique birds like Magpie, scarlet minivet, and Himalayan Pheasant.
Brorong is reachable by air, rail, and road, the nearest airport is Bagdogra from there you have to take a train to Sikkim, the nearest railway station is New Jalpaiguri, and then from new Jalpaiguri cabs are available that take you to Borong, by road you can from Siliguri.
Borong is very scenic, and being in Borong you can catch a view of Mt.Kanchenjunga and the subsequent peaks, you can visit the gerang monastery, the silver falls also there is hot spring and a zoo to visit, and if you are fond of shopping then the M G Marg market is good shopping hub.
Borong offers a lot to stay option, from hotels to cottages and at an affordable cost, Borong is a safe place as I felt being there, however, it is good to watch your steps and be careful.
