*==Airtel Review,
Circle- New Delhi==*
Things regarding Mobile phones were so easy in Mumbai. Lots of option to choose from, cheaper and competitive call rates, availability of different value added schemes and quality network with most of the leading subscribers. But as I had to migrate myself to National Capital Region, the first confusion of my mind was to choose which of the mobile operators for all those types of facilities I had experienced in Mumbai.
Airtel’s exciting and tempting advertisement “har friend jarurihotahai” and few friends had also recommended me the same, I decided to give it a try. So here is my review regarding ‘Airtel’ after three months of use. Following are my views as per the important components that airtel has.
Network Quality:
Network Quality is undoubtedly the essential necessity while choosing the Mobile network. So for this, Airtel scores almost full marks as its network in whole Delhi is stronger than any other network. That may be the reason behind having large no of subscribers. Either you travel through Metro or you are in the corner of you building or any historical places, you will get the full strength of Network. More ever as airtel has its service in almost every of the circle, airtel can be considered by those frequent travelers for whom nothing matters other than network quality.
The plus point is Airtel has 3G services in Delhi.
My rating 4.5 out of 5.
Call Quality
Because of its strongest Network Quality, Call Quality is very good. So you’ll have good clarity of voice during call (note to be taken as call quality depends on strength of network in other side also). As for me, I never experienced any call drop either.
My rating 4 out of 5
Call-price
This is the reason that can hurt you when you are using airtel in Delhi circle. As per my experience, Delhi and Mumbai Circle in itself is the most expensive circle but the difference of call price is comparatively larger. The availability of different service provider in Mumbai gives you the ease of choosing one from many and the call rate are relatively cheaper while not so in the case of Delhi. So, among those entire high priced service providers, airtel stands at top (along with Vodafone).
The calling rate is very expensive that if you are a new subscriber, you might end up paying 90p/min and there is no any call rate cutter scheme too. There are few for stds or for local also, but in some or other way, airtel user are are paying more than other user. (may be delhi’s people won’t feel the larger difference but the comparison will give a clear picture).
More ever, if you have to use sms/gprs facilities, you won’t get small usage plan as of other network. There is no such scheme less than 1000 sms and less than 1 GB data usage. Nor there is any suitable night call plan. So, all these limitations make airtel a tougher one to manage.
My rating: 1 out of 5
Value Added Service
The only value added service I used from airtel is sms and internet pack. SMS pack is reliable and most of the time it is instant delivery. But the pack comes only with the minimum 1000 sms pack validity with 1 month.
2G Internet pack is available for 1 GB which might be more than required for people who surf through mobile only. The mobile internet speed is as normal (may be upto 8-10kbps) as of 2G level but speed in 6 pm-11 pm goes down relatively than as of other time.
3G internet pack is not so fast as it is said to be and for its bundle usage, you need to pay minimum 102 for 300 MB.
Other Value added service is available as of other provider provides.
My rating 2.5 out of 5
Customer Service
This is another fact where no other can beat Airtel, first from bottom. Airtel customer is another torture customer need to face. If you need to ask any queries to customer care, you have to call on payable number where they will hold your call for 3 minutes after every of 30 mins talk. They all react like as if they joined company just today only. And even after all these; your complaints won’t be solved. it is loss of time along with the loss of money.
Wait, if you are thinking to save your time by sending the email request/complaint, please never expect them to reply.
My rating 0.5 out of 5.
Recharge Facilites
Airtel recharge will surely be available in every mobile shop but if you are the one who often do internet recharge, you will be bounded with lots of limitations. The airtel recharge through its website has recharge for amount of few denominations only. Even recharge of normal sms pack and rate cutter are unavailable through internet recharge. Moreover what I faced is that while recharging for special recharge, the money got deducted, the recharge got successful but plan was not activated.
My rating 3 out of 5.
Conclusion
With its few merits and no. of demerits, airtel still remains widely chosen network provider. Its mainly because of its strong network and satisfactory call quality. So if you are the one who don’t give care to money but concerned only about good service, then airtel is for you. But if you are user with restriction of daily budget, you can opt for other service provider where you will surely wish, “kaash network airtel ka jaisa hota”. So in some or other way, you are compelled to use Airtel (or Vodafone as other option) for smooth use.
Airtel undoubtedly has good service for which it has received larger no. of customers than of any other service provider but their attitude of expensive service will surely hurt them some or other day.
Overall rating:- 2.5 out of 5.
Recommendation- "Yes" (Its Yes only Because you dont have other good choice for quality network)
P.s. if you want to stay happy, never call Airtel Customer Service. It will save your money, time and happy mood too :)
Be blessed!
