My dear folks?
I?m in Bangalore since last six months and have come across this one recently. 36 Chowringhee Lane is an authentic Bengali restaurant and the food is really good. More than that, the ambience reminded me of my house at Kolkata. It was a pleasant experience for me and thought of sharing with you all.
All my Bangalore MSians can try this sometime?after all Bengali cuisine is one of the best among the country?..
Life keeps on going?and unpredictably it keeps on moving from one end to another. With the flow of the tide I came to Bangalore from the City of Joy, Kolkata. Its been a long since I came, but got a chance to visit this place.
A couple of weeks back, my brother came down to Bangalore and I went to Richmond Town with him. While we were thinking of having lunch, one of my friends took us to this amazing Bengali restaurant which immediately made me feel at home.
The moment I entered into the restaurant, I felt as if I have come to someone?s residence at Kolkata. The ambience is excellent, especially for those who miss hometown Kolkata a lot. It?s a typically Bengali restaurant, yet you will enjoy the ambience and of course the food. The owner of the restaurant came to us with the menu and I had a nice talk with him.
We went for simple ?thali? with ?Rui fish curry?. After sometime the yummy food came in decent bowls and dishes. The menu was Rice, Dal, Curry, Fish, Pickle and of course curd. The food was really tasty and delicious. This is one of the typical Bengali restaurants in Bangalore which is a great relief for foodies like me and for those who really miss Bengali food here in Bangalore.
After having a grand lunch, I thought of spending sometime with the owner uncle. He told me that he is here from past couple of years and his children love this place a lot. He told me about the varieties of menu which he makes everyday and on special occasions. Curious me couldn?t wait for the list and believe me it was really yummy!! They provide varieties of fishes, which is rare in Bangalore along with some rare vegetarian dishes. The main course is of course Rice, Dal, Curry and Fish. But they made changes according to the season and festivals.
They make the dishes with special care, which make them more tasty and interesting. I feel, whether you love or don?t love Bengali cuisine, you should go and try this once at least. I am sure you will love the dishes?. At least a couple of them will insist you to go again.
For my dear MSians I am giving the address?
