I am not too sure whether I actually need to review this movie - The buzz around, the word-of-mouth should have reached you by now that this is indeed a movie not to be missed this Christmas/New Year season.

I read the book a few years back and, quite frankly, do not remember the entire sequence of the narration - just remember the base storyline and some important events. But this one really surpassed my expectations. Amazing performances by the actors, amazing humor and amazing way the story has been told in the movie - Overall a super ending to a year for Bollywood!

There are scenes which will make you roll down on the floor with laughter and ones that will bring tears to your eyes for sure - An excellent mix of fun and emotions with a very strong message floating across.

Yes, its the message that makes the movie stand out, more than anything else! From the starting frame till the end, the movie is focussed on the theme of how the education system is at odds with creative thoughts - a message that never gets drowned in the comedy and tragedy that is offered over the 3 hours duration. One really needs to applaud the Director for the excellent focus on this message, the theme - something which probably was not so prominent even in the book'Five Point Someone'.

Apart from that, what stood out to me were the continuous change of events that occured throughout the movie, never making it seem dull or dragging - the continuous uptones and downtones that would keep the audience at the edge of their seats all the while.

Yes, you can dismiss this one as a poor representation of the actual Chetan Bhagat book'Five Point Someone', but you would be only playing a sore critic. The movie is based on the base storyline from the bestseller and the less you try to relate this one with the book, the better you'll enjoy it!

Hats off to Rajkumar hirani for coming out with this holiday season treat, Hats off to Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi, Madhavan, Boman Irani, Omi Vaidya(his Chamatkar/Balatkar speech is one of the funniest sequences I have ever seen), Kareena and the rest of the bunch. And of course, hats off to Chetan Bhagat for the ideation.

A wonderful movie and a must-watch(once, twice, as many times you want), if you haven't done so already!
