We are using this refrigerator of LG, Fresh Master GR-282 MVR, since August 2001. This is a 280 liters double door fridge with automatic defrosting, water dispenser with an evaporating tray. Coils are concealed at the back.
Dimensions (Width x Height x Depth): 590mm x1165mm x 639mm. It is a tall fridge and occupies less floor space.
Salient features of this fridge : Gross capacity: 280 liters
Freezer: 70 liters quick freezing compartment with two shelves, Freezer Temperature Controller. LG provides only one ice tray and an ice box. Ice box is very useful where you can collect ice cubes from the tray and use the tray for making one more tray of ice cubes. It has freezer door rack; good enough to hold 4 - 5 bottles.
Refrigerator: 210 liters with three shelves and a Tray meat. One more additional tray can be easily added to suit your requirements. Tray Meat is deep tray and a shelf on the top of it so that stored material does not come into contact of warm air when door is opened for regular use. It has quite a big Vegetable Drawer. Door has three racks and one small rack for eggs or small items. Bottom rack is big enough to hold three 2 liter bottles of Cold drinks. It has a well good looking lamp holder. This compartment has its own temperature controller.
Spill proof crystal shelves - These are high quality transparent plastic shelves without any perforation. So spill of one tray do not fall on the other tray. Sufficient space around the shelves is good enough for the air circulation.
VCM door finish - This special finish gives a very attractive look.
Semi Omega (Reversible) door - You can change the type of door opening from the left to the right. This is an advantage of this fridge because door opening is not a restriction while placing the fridge in a room.
Anti Condensate Pipe - This pipes carries hot refrigerant to prevent sweating on the outer cabinet wall. This system prevents corrosion of the body due condensation of water especially in humid atmosphere.
We have not opted for FIR Lamp which is optional. Emitted rays from fat infrared lamp prevent food from getting dry and food remains fresh for longer time.
We are using this fridge since last six months and need not call any technician for any reasons. Service of LG is good in this area; once visited our place just to know how the fridge is working. This may be due the initiative of the local dealer.
Precautions to be taken in case of any refrigerator:-
Keep enough space around the fridge for air circulation
It is better to use 15 amps electrical fittings
Do not use multiple-plug and connect too many other types of appliances from one electrical point causing overload
Any electrical appliances must be grounded. In the event of an electrical short circuit, earthing (grounding) reduces the risk of electrical shock by providing an escape route for the electric current.
Do not store toxic or harmful material in the fridge. In a chemical company, a chemist kept a bottle of hydrogen peroxide in plastic bottle in their fridge in the laboratory. After taking lunch Chief Chemist of the same laboratory open the fridge and drank that material assuming it as water and died. Such risk is very high at home when kids are around. A domestic fridge should be used only for food.
Regular cleaning of the refrigerator is very important.
