Charming Animated Flick from Dreamworks which spoofs and gathers all the popular Children Fairy Tales in to one. Lord Farquaad (Voiceof John Lithgow) decides to banish all the fairy tale characters out of his kingdom in to the land which is owned by an ogre called Shrek (Voice Of Mike Myers). Shrek asks Farquaad to clear his land from encroachment. Farquaad asks him to get him Princess Fiona (Voice Of Cameron Diaz) so that not only will shrek's land be cleared of encroachment but aslo Farquaad can become a King. Shrek goes to find Fionna along with a blabbering Donkey (Voice of Eddie Murphy). Typically, Fionna falls in love with Shrek and you can guess the rest of the story. Not much emphasis laid on the script but is full of superb one liners and in-jokes. Stand out performance By Eddie Murphy as the Donkey. Superb Soundtrack and watch out for the Climax Song, ''I am a believer'' by Neil Diamond. Worth a watch not only for kids but also for Adults. Very Feel Good Film. The Ending is very nice and different.

1) Chris Farley was originally cast as Shrek and even recorded the dialogue. However, after his death, the role was given to Mike Myers.

2) An extra 4 million dollars were spent by the studios after Mike Myers decided he wanted to give the voice of shrek, a scottish accent after all the animation was finished.

3) The Character Of Lord Farquaad was based on Disney Boss Micheal KAsner. Producer Jeffrey Katzenburg decided to do it because he was a former Animatio department head in Disney and was fired under unpleasent circumstances.
