We booked a 3 BHK flat which we were supposed to receive possession in 2013. As always happens in Mumbai, this has been pushed - in this case innumerable times. A house in Mumbai is the largest investment that a family makes. Therefore, there is all the more responsibility that a real estate group sticks to their commitment. While we xpect a marginal delay, what however causes a lot of agony -
Lack of transparency - The apartments are more or less done, yet no visibility on possession. Obviously there are issues that they are facing. But they are unwilling to divulge.
Lack of basic courtesy to flat owners - Based on their date commitments, we have made plans on interiors, to not extend our rental agreements etc. Every time the date gets pushed they have lacked the basic courtesy to call up and inform us about delays. We have had multiple conversations and calls on this, yet we get to know of a delay or postponement only when we call them. This in spite of them having a'customer servicing team' and us having a'Relation Mgr' - an eyewash.
Unwillingness to pay up for our losses - Most builders in Chembur pay for rentals when possession takes time. Considering that these are huge value flats and we are also paying rental, we have asked them to bear rentals. We have been refused.
A complete lack of transparency, unwillingness to co-operate or be transparent and lack of courtesy have ruined our perception about this group completely. On the other hand, these were the guys who jacked up the car parking rates by 400, 00 when we delayed payment by 2-4 days. No integrity either.
