Zaffran, St Marks Road, Bangalore

We wanted to check out the newly opened chinese restaurant at Orion Mall...but ended up at Zaffran; though we are eager to try out this new joint as well. What's inviting is the elegantly appointed seating in open air environment along the promenade right at the backside of Orion Mall.

Pros

Open Air Environment for seating.

Cons

Seating: is extremely uncomfortable for both the guests and wait staff, specially seating that is in lounge mode.

Food: just not up to the mark or rather didnt live up to the expectations of a fine dining destination. Sweet lassi, which is supposed to be a specialty, is infused with sourness that is inexplicable. Zaffrani Taftan: is just OK type north Indian bread; but nothing to rave about.

Malai Kofta: is quite good. Fresh lime soda; is full of soda than the zing and freshness of a fresh lime. So is the case with the onions that are provided along with the food: they are not fresh and crisp.

Order fulfillment: it takes a while to get the food on to the table.

Service Staff: some of them definitely should be able to communicate in english.

Overall Experience: marred by the absolutely not thought thru seating arrangements; food is just about OK.

Price Value Proposition: Not worth it.
