Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneshwar

I am sorry to say about 1 institution but yes, I dont think XIMB is better because For BBA it take Rs 6L and for MBA Rs 14L.I don't think that each and everybody will be capable to study in XIMB.The study will be same in each and every institution.So why? XIMB is taking so much money.Those who are reading in XIMB I wanna ask them why are u wasting a lot of money for 3yr and 2yr study.It will be helful for you to invest that money so other way.Their are many management institution in Bhubaneswar.Form that the best college is "DSBM( Dav School Of Business Management) , Utkal University the best.I would suggest each and everyone rather wasting money like this try to invest it.

Xavier Institute of Management is a very good for study of management subject. It is situated in Bhubaneshar.  This is very good in comparison to others institute. It is a large space with all facilities. Environment of here is very cool and nice. They provide best education. They helps students to make their better career. I have a great experience from here.

I got my better education and a good career. I also got some good friends from here. They make their students of top label. So, I like these all over.

It is good and excellent management college for mba.

Its teaching faculty is for the student and only for the student. Its campus is outstanding and safe. It's hostel facility is very good. One average student can easily devop himselp for management jobs easily.

I too after finishing my graduation studies became a part of the rat race. That is how I landed at one of the finest B-Schools of India -Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar more prominently known as XIMB.

History:

Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) owes its origin to the initiatives of the Government of Orissa and the Jesuit Society. It was started in 1987. Since then it has completed 18 years of purposeful existence, offering management education ''with a human face''. During this short span of its existence, XIMB has established an identity of its own, and a consistent position among the best B-Schools in the country. XIMB aims to develop in its students technical, professional, managerial excellence, social and cultural sensitivity , ethical responsibility and concern for the environment. This objective is to enable students to be successful in their career and also keep pace with the changing scenario of the corporate world and its environs.

Infrastructure:

The institute is located in a 20 acres verdant campus located on the outskirts of

Bhubaneswar city. The classrooms are all air-conditioned and are equipped with educational audio/video equipment, LCD projectors, computers and WiFi. Also each student is provided with a single room and a personal laptop and a 24 hours internet connection of 2Mbps.Also this year the hostel too has been made Wi-Fi enabled. The facilities for sports and games are one of the best in the country,with floodlit tennis courts, jogging tracks, a cricket & football field and an indoor badminton court. The XIMB library has excellent books (40000+) and a large collection of journals on management and related subjects. The AIS(Academic Information System) developed by XIMB is unique in itself and is now being adopted by other premier institutes.

Academic Programmes:

The institute offers three postgraduate programs and one doctoral program. They are:

PGP- Two year full time Post Graduate Programme in Business Management.

PGPRM- Two year full time Post Graduate Programme in Rural Management.

Ex-PGP- Three year Part time Post Graduate Programme in Business Management for Working Executives

FPM- Fellow Programme in Management.

Student Life and Activities:

My experience in the last few months since I joined is something that cannot be described. I think that the days spent here are some of the best days of my life. Although the institute is more academic oriented there are always days when we have lots of fun & parties. Here at local restaurants we as XIMBians also get a good discount on food and drinks. Also a lot of extra-curricular activities happen on the campus. Come October and students and top executives from all over India start pouring in, to celebrate our annual cultural extravaganza ''Xpressions''.The thrust here is that students themselves manage each and every aspect of this mega event. Also there are round the clock activities like quiz, online trading games et al organized by various student committees on the campus. All in all almost 18-20 hours a day the campus is in a vibrant mode.

Placements:

The placement cell here is very active and has been able to attract some of the best names in the corporate world. Companies like Marico, Infosys, Wipro, TVS Electronics,

Polaris...etc are regular on the campus. The list is a long one. To see entire placement

3 months have passed since I came here, but than life here has been so different that one does not realize how time passes here. Let it be the initial homesickness or the various experiences that I went through, today I am truly enjoying the spirit, the spirit of being an XIMBian.

8000 characters is probably way too little for me to be able to effectively communicate how exactly it feels to be an XIMBian, but nevertheless I will try. There are a number of factors that differentiate XIM as a Business school par excellence.

These factors are all briefly explained below.

The infrastructure at the institute is dazzling, with every student being given a laptop, and staying in a single room with internet connection. The classrooms are all air-conditioned, and the entire classroom complex is WI-Fi enabled. The facilities for sports and games are the envy of most institutes around the country, what with floodlit tennis courts and a sprawling football field making round-the-clock sports and games a reality.

The faculty at the institute are inspiring to say the least, and above all are friendly people who never step back from interacting with students especially when students come to them with queries or doubts. The excellent academic credentials of the faculty are there for all to see, and I need not mention them here.

In general, there is a vibrant culture of extra-curricular activities prevalent on campus, and this is most evident when one looks at the various clubs and associations that are active in providing education along with entertainment to the XIMBians. These associations include MAXIM (Marketing Association of XIM), X-Fin (Finance Association of XIM), XIMAHR (XIM Association of HR), etc. These associations frequently hold meetings, training programs, and other forms of edutainment. Besides these events, student also get a chance to interact with people from the industry during the CEO talks which are held now and then.

The institute has seen excellent placements over the last few years, and the future promises further improvements. In a nutshell, XIM lives up to whatever expectations one normally has from an institute run by the priests of the Society Of Jesus, given their excellent reputation for running quality educational institutes across the country. Above all, every XIMBian is assured of a good education, what with the underlying principle being the emphasis on content, over flamboyance.

Xavier Institute of Management at Bhubaneswar is a joint effort of the Government of Orissa and the Orissa Jesuit Society. XIM, as the Institute is popularly known, offers a two-year Post-graduate Diploma Course in Management and Rural Management, besides Executive Development Programmes in Management for middle-level Executives of Public and Private Sector undertakings.

The students of XIM, both boys and girls, are a bright lot. They are selected through a rigorous admission test. The Government of Orissa has some quotas for students from Orissa. Without any intention of hurting the feelings of the quota students from Orissa, I can say without any fear of contradiction that the students selected by open competition are a shade better than the quota students from Orissa.

My younger brother, Professor S. B. Mohanty is a professor of Marketing there, and he is also in charge of Placement. A former student of mine, Sonali, who was at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Dhenkanal, Orissa, was also a student of XIM. My sources of information about XIM are my brother and Sonali. Sonali is now living in USA, with her husband, who is a Doctor.

The XIM campus is well laid out with flora of different varieties. The Staff Residences are reasonably good, but we find my brother's flat at the second floor to be rather small and congested.

The students do hard work, and are assessed very objectively by the faculty. My brother has a feeling that all the faculty members are not upto the academic level and standard to be able to satisfy the demands of the students. I have heard from some students that there are faculty members who pronounce English as Oriya. All the same the students never show any trace of disrespect to the faculty. Work and play go on together. They have a lot of outings, picnics, musical evenings and lectures. Only day before yesterday Sam Pitroda, the Telecom Guru was with them for a brilliant Question-Answer session. How I wish, I was there! My wife was there just by chance.

Let me reiterate that Placement is given a lot of importance as it is crucial for the students' careers. My brother had been to Singapore to explore the possibilities of Placement in Singapore. He has been hopeful, and his next target is Malaysia. The XIM alumni start with a pay packet of rupees one to one and a half lakh.

The quality of food in the students' mess is quite good. The faculty can order food from the mess. Once or twice we have tasted the mess food at my brother's residence.

Well Parents of XIM students, you have nothing to worry about. Your money is well spent. It is an investment in Human Resource Development for the sake of Orissa and India.

XIM bhubaneswar is the top 20 business school in India, this institute offers unique management program and different from others, XIMB offers MS in Finance, MBA in Rural Management, MBA sustainability Management and many more., campus is very large and green-lush, most of the faculties are very friendly in nature and very helpful. Good place to learn and earn.

Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar knows as XIMB is the best management institute in India for MBA in Sustainability Management. Fcaulty are expertise in his area and industry oriented. Campus are very good, neat and clean, Well managed campus. Extremely clean b school with amazing infrastructure. Rooms purposed for other activities, such as Conference Room might be made cleaner with a little effort.

Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneswar(XIMB) is one of the best management Institute in India for MBA in rural management & MBA in sustainability Management.Very good Facilities, placement & Infrastructure . Most of the faculty are highly experienced and industry oriented.
