The best amusement park in Bangalore!
Jul 10, 2015 07:59 PM 30622 Views

Its a fun place and the rides there are amusing! I have visited the Park twice and had a lot of fun. I had been once with friends and once with family.

If you are planning to visit by public transport, there are BMTC Volvo buses to wonder la and 226 series bmtc buses go from Majestic and Market till bidadi, ask for the wonder la stop and get down in the main road and from there, Wonder la authorities have arranged bus facility which goes around a few times in a day from the main road to the amusement park and back. So there is no need to worry much about the transport.

The park opens at 11:00 a.m. So it is advised, you be there by 10:45 at least, so that you can go in soon and have maximum fun till 6:00 p.m.(the time the park closes). Because this is really not enough to experience all the games there.

I think on weekends, the park will be open till 7 pm and the rates are also high on weekends.

The ticket price is around 860 including the taxes and on weekends, its around 1000 Rs. There is discount for students, so if you are a student and you are planning a trip to wonder la with your friends, don't forget to carry your student ID card, and avail the discount.

The land games are awesome specially roller coaster, pirate ship, mixer, XD max  and giant wheel and every one of the games is fun and enjoyable.  Some are really scary though!

I loved the toon tango and dungeon ride! There is something called crazy wagon which swings in all directions and by the end of it, you'll feel dizzy and like throwing up!(my cousin's previous experience with her friends and which is why I didn't try:P).

The water rides are the best here! Its much better than the rides I have been in GRS fantasy park, neeladri etc(not even comparable actually).

If you are trying water rides I advise you not to get into the lazy river! If you are the types who have gone to have fun, this is not for you, its rather for the people who would want to relax and who will not play much adventurous games as it will take up too much time in your 7 hours of amusement park experience. I hate it the most.

I love the twisters and the pendulum! they are the best and you'll never get bored!

Vertical fall is a little scary at the beginning but once you get on it, its the best! Rain disco is also good, but when we had been there, there was some boring song playing which I didn't like and i'm not much of a dancer, so I didn't stay there for long, but its fun if you love dancing.

Totally a must visit place if you happen to visit Bangalore and have fun a whole day!

Amazing water park
Jul 03, 2015 04:52 PM 23685 Views (via Android App)

Wonder La is among most famous amusement parks of the city. Comprising Dry Rides and Wet Rides, the attraction is frequented by tourists seeking fun while on vacation. The amusement park houses various attractions for tourists of all age groups, including the 80 metres high Sky Wheel building.

The amusement park offers innumerable fun rides for kids and teens, including wooden water chute, pipes of different heights and curves to slide through. For tourists seeking relaxation, there are air boats to laze around in a water pool. Among other noteworthy water rides at the park are the vertical drop and artificial wave pools.

Other attractions of the park include The Drop Zone, The Hurricane, Virtual Reality Theatre and Laser Show. In addition, the Crazy Car, Indoor Musical Fountain and a Giant wheel on a 300-metre platform are also popular with the tourists.

Awesome Amusement Park !!
Apr 18, 2015 05:13 PM 24802 Views

I have been to WonderLa Bangalore, and itis one of the best amusements park in India, It has many exciting dry rides and many adventurous water rides too, rain dance and wave pool is very good. the water is clean. And You will find many  security people all around near pools.

All the dry ride machines are also well checked,  if they have a single doubt on the working system, they will stop the ride for some time do a end to end system checkup and then only they start it again so I found it very safe.

This is good for all age, they have nice rides for Kids also, and pools and simple water rides too and 3D, 7D shows are also available.

You can make a full day plan for this and enjoy fullest, They provide you separate(boys and girls) locker and locker room. which I found very clean and sophisticated. It is a complete package of adventure and fun. It is complete worth. Weekends there will be a good crowd.

If you have come to Bangalore.you must go!

I recently visited wonder la and was shocked with the kind of land and water rides. I have seen these type of rides only in movies. Almost 40-50 kms from Bangalore, its a must place to visit. I was scared while taking many rides but at the end of day enjoyed a lot. The ticket prices was reasonable, Rs. 900 for all the rides. I visited the amusement park with my friends and in addition to that the bike journey to wonderla is really awesome.

If someone recently moved to Bangalore or in the upcoming holiday season somebody coming to enjoy their holidays, go and visit Wonder LA.

Ladies Beware
Oct 20, 2014 05:42 PM 29450 Views

Hi All, The park is a great place, but the security and staff behavior is pathetic. This incident happened to us on 4th Oct 2014. One of the security staff had a Camera Mobile and he had taken videos of ladies playing in the wave pool and also in the Rainfall.

(Even my Family was affected by this) I had got this escalated with the Management. They were so soft and promised to take all necessary steps until 7pm, They started shouting at us and also told us to do what ever we want.

They were scared only when the public was available, once every one left they showed their true colour. They were telling me that this is a small issue and why I was taking all these things seriously, I made sure that the phone was destroyed and for security reasons I had collected the Memory Card.(I do not want to post the videos I think you all would know why?) The reason why I am posting this is because I do not want any ladies to be affected the same way we were.

For the Staff in Wonderla this is a very small issue, but for all the ladies and girls this is a very big issue. Its a great place to spend a vacation, but as far as Privacy is concerned, its the WORST place.

My day at wonderla
Jul 18, 2013 12:20 PM 12943 Views

I visited Wonderla Cochin recently, its a fantastic place in Cochin to spend time. I was not at all thinking of any of my tensions all day, just the word "enjoy" was running in my mind.

Time was running so fast that I could not get in to all the rides. People who wish to enjoy a full day without any tension just drive in to Wonderla. LOVED IT!

WonderLa is Wonderful
Jun 21, 2012 05:59 AM 15971 Views

I visited WonderLa Park and stayed overnight at the park's resort. The park is definitely world class and is in fact much better than some overrated parks like DisneyLand Paris. There are rides for people of all ages and everyone will have a whale of a time. Do remember to carry a change of clothes for the wet rides. I would recommend using the locker facility at the park (costs Rs 50 extra). First finish off the dry rides and then change into swimming gear for the wet rides.

The park gets very crowded on weekends and waiting for your turn at the rides can be frustrating. There is a nice and clean resort just outside the park which has started operations newly. You can stay here overnight in case you are planning to visit the park on 2 days or are just tired to go back home. The resort is comfortable but expensive.

Not worth the time and money you need to spend
Jun 04, 2012 12:56 PM 15812 Views

Wonder la has some close to 60 rides, the space is huge, some rides are really unique, hardly available in any other place, rides are there for everyone, etc. Then it should be good right !!!! Why should I be cribbing ????

The problem is with the capacity and the way the management handles this. We went on a Saturday, knowing it will be overcrowded. But what we saw was really horrible. It was packed like anything. At least 30 mins was needed to do any ride. So even though they say there are 60 rides, we could do only around 8-10. Lots of hooligans have started coming in these places, they will break queues, push you from behind and make your experience even worse. The guards are good for nothing. My 11 year old nephew was not allowed to do a ride, as it was for kids and ladies.

So will request all to start considering other theme parks/ water parks or some other forms of entertainment. Well, Wonder la may have the best infrastructure, but the service you get at the end of the day is not worth the huge amount you pay.

A brief about how much a family need to spend :

3 adults and 2 kids : Ticket price was 3.5 K

Inside food and all : 500

100 Kms of Travel in our car : 500

Total : 4.5 K and some 10 hours (for doing some 10 rides

Excellent water park
Nov 15, 2011 10:17 AM 16926 Views

I have been to wonder La thrice now and each time it was thoroughly entertaining. I am not much of dry rides person hence my experience is based on the water park. They have locker facility in the change room along with shower areas. The facility is very hygienic and water temperature is also maintained nicely. My personal linking is the wave pool and the play pool where a huge bucket full of water drops on your head.

My suggestions:

Enter as soon as it opens - lot of rides- you need time - some rides are double the fun only when go twice or thrice as first time you are only going to close your eyes:)

Slippers - don't worry slipper alone are sufficient

Minimal stuff in pockets - no watch - no bunch of keys- no hefty purse - anyway you have to leave it in the locker if u don't want them to get wet or fall of from a height in a ride

Swimming costume is a must -  for safety and tension free complete fun. You can purchase one there itself too.

Swimming goggles - personal preference - might enjoy swimming in wave pool

For kids - inflatable accessories

Summer time - sun glasses and cap

Carry liquid soap - its better to have a bath in fresh water after you r done with wet rides

Jun 24, 2011 06:32 PM 14982 Views

I visited wonder la on 21-jun-2011, the trip was awsome. The wet and dry rides were great I really loved all

I just want to tell few points:

1)Leave early in morning

It took us around 1 hr to reach the venue on working day.there are traffic jams in the way to wonder la

2)Choose working day for visit(less crowd)

Enjoy dry rides first then you can go to wet park

wet park closes around 5PM so pan accordingly

3)Wear shorts and t-shirt for D-day

4)I saw females in suties and sarees in the wet park, there were 1-2 females in swim suites(so females please ensure you carry extra t-shirts and bermudas for the swim)

5)The day of visit will be completly utilised no other thing shud be planned on this day

while coming back there is MC-D and also Dominnos you can eat there as food at wonder la is not upto the mark

But in all must visit place for all

thanks

Wonderla is not worth going to.
Feb 26, 2011 04:28 PM 16273 Views

I had been to wonderla and I was shocked to see the state of the swimming pool. There were dead insects in it and no action was taken! I walked straight out without even exploring it, I would rather recommend Innovative Film City!If anyone is planning to go there please take my suggestion. Do not go there and I will never go there ever.

The best amusement park I have been to is innovative film city in bangalore, its a wonderful place and not at all expensive!

Few concerns about wonder la
Dec 27, 2010 10:51 PM 15253 Views

I would like to highlights few things which this amazing amusement park can improve upon -

  1. They can train staff to be more courteous. I had at least 3 instances where their staff was rude.

  2. They claim that they maintain water temperature at various pools at 29 degree celsius. However, when I got it measured today at around 1 pm, it was only 27 degree. Staff there tried justified the same saying that it is close to 28 degree which is what acceptable to them. Beside, water in the pool was looking visually dirty with many died insects floating around in it. I doubt hygienic condition of the water there.

  3. There was an incidence with my 6 year old son in the car race zone 2 where he was made to drive the car alone (his mom was denied to join him) and when he got hit by other cars, kid started crying. Support staff was only watching and did not help him in spite of me shouting from outside for the help. This was a deliberate ignorance from the staff and could be one of the instances. But it aslo speaks about the training & sensitivity management provides to their staff on safety & handling issues especially for kids. I logged a complaint about that staff, hopefully management will take some action.

First I tried thier website to put these comments but couldn't find any feedback/ suggestions section there. They can provide some on line feedback section in their website to avoid people writing these kind of feedback in public site.

Wonderla Experience
Nov 22, 2010 02:44 PM 15260 Views

Last week I have been to wonderla with my family. Its was very nice experience. The quality and neatness they maintain inside the park is really superb!!! Amazing!!! All rides are excellent and worth to go and spend time. Even though Entrance fee is high (Rs. 625 for adults), worth to pay. When you pay this amount no need to spend any money inside the park other than food.

You can go to any rides 'n' number of times provided if you have time. Please plan accordingly as there will be lot of ride and definetly you will miss lot of things. Foods are amazing taste and with reasonable price. I never expected a quality food with such affordable prices. Value for money. Enjoy!!!!

Overview of my experience
May 31, 2010 04:17 PM 13443 Views

I'm quickly summarizing a day out with my wife and 2 yr old kid

1) Point to point distance was 64 k.m - took about 2hrs on a Friday

2) Easy to find - plenty of signboards and prominent arch on approach road

3) Most of the rides are quite good

4) Facilities are excellent - from washrooms to lockers and dormitories

5) Food prices are reasonable

6) Packed snacks and drinking water are sold at MRP.

7) Plenty of restrooms and clean, free drinking water from filters/coolers

6) Layout of the park is interesting - some exploration is needed to try all the rides. Keeps the day exciting.

7) Cleanliness is 99/100. Almost as well kept as a corporate office.

8) Enough rides for small kids(2-3 yrs)

9) Helpful and courteous staff

10) Safety seems to be a priority for them

11) Green tech - pool water is solar heated. There are signs about this in many places.

12) Weekday prices are lesser - good vfm

13) Great parking

14) Beautiful landscape

I did not try the water attractions. Keeping that for the next visit. Just wondering if they plan to upgrade or change some of the rides to keep people coming back else it might get boring after 2-3 visits.

Read this to ensure a good wonderla experience
Oct 22, 2009 09:38 PM 13585 Views

I had gone to wonder la(Bangalore) on 21st october 2009. It was my first time, even though it had been many years since the park opened. I have gone with a group of about 20 and hence I had to pay only Rs.350. That is a one time fee for any ride, any number of times.Since it was a weekday, the park was sparesely populated. We never had to wait for more than 5 minutes for any ride.

In order to have a good experience, you must ensure that you have the following:

  1. Two T shirts and two pants or boxer shorts. 2. A swimming trunk. 3. Moisturiser(very important)4. Hawaii slippers/chappals(along with your sandals/shoes)5. Soap and shampoo6. A towel

When you enter the park, buy a locker and put all the items you won’t need like watch, cash etc in it. Double check the locker to be sure that it is locked. There is an elastic band attached to the locker key, so that you can wear it around your wrist like a watch. Make sure that you do not lose your locker key. The locker key should be with you ALWAYS. Be extra careful with it.

You should avoid eating stomach full before you enter any high-thrill ride. But that doesn’t mean you should be on an empty stomach. Once you are done with the dry rides, take some cash from your locker and have food.

Now its turn for the wet rides. Head to the locker, throw all your stuff in it except the swimming trunk. You will only need to wear the swimming trunk and hawaii chappals for the wet rides. Hawaii slippers are necessary because the floor can get too hot to walk on if you are in barefoot. Before entering a wet ride, you will need to take off your hawaii chappals. You can tell a friend to keep a watch on it while you finish the ride.

After the wet ride, head to the shower area and have a quick soap and shampoo bath. Not thoroughly, because you may want to go home and have a full bath. You will need a moisturizer to avoid dry skin.

I noticed a lot of people wearing their T shirts and/or boxer shorts while doing wet rides. That is un-usual. You only need to wear the swimming trunk for water rides.

Thats about it. Also, I noticed a lack of female participation when it came to the water rides. I’m guessing that it was due to privacy concerns. The park authorities should consider making separate water rides for men and women for some, if not all of the rides.

Park maintenance is good. I never liked most of the dry rides. They’re scary but not fun, at least for me. I loved the wave pool.

Thanks for reading. Goodbye.

Ooh La La Wonderla
May 19, 2009 01:29 PM 19786 Views

Visited Wonderla amusement park last week and had an amazing time. Without doubt, Wonderla has become a must-visit tourist spot in Bangalore. We planned our visit on a weekday to avoid the weekend rush and also to avail the lesser fee. (Weekday fee for adult is 470 and children 360, on weekends it is 570 adult and 440 children). We also got a 10% discount as we had a privilege card.

Wonderla is close to Bangalore on the Bangalore-Mysore road. Once you cross Kengeri, you should be able to reach within 20-30 minutes. Even if you dont have a vehicle, there are plenty of buses to Bidadi which stop on the highway and Wonderla has pickup from the highway. We went by car and the drive was a breeze. Lots of parking place and lots of security staff.

The park has around 50 rides, each of them extremely well-designed, well-maintained and of course very safe. All the rides in the park can be divided into three categories - Kiddies ride, Dry ride and Wet Rides.

Kiddies Ride

Lots of rides for kids, who will have a blast. Toy trains, mini-pirate ship, carousel, mini-merry-go-round and many other places which kids will enjoy. Dont miss tyhe friendly fish, which you can feed with your hands, kids would love this place.

Dry rides

It is better to finish the dry rides first as you may not be allowed into some of them if you are wet. There are high-thrill rides like Twister, Insanity, Y-Scream which turn and rotate you 360 degrees and churn your stomach. These rides are the adventurous only. Wonderla Bamba at the entrance is an interesting high-thrill ride, where you sit on a bench and are moved clock-wise, just as you are enjoying the ride, you are suddenly sent spinning anti-clockwise and before you recover, back to a clock-wise spin, leaving you screaming in fear and of-course screaming for more.

Other interesting rides include:

a) Termite train (slow) and Coaster( fast) : train rides inside a termite hill

b) Techno-jump : Takes you for a fast spin

c) Drop zone : takes you up and down from a height

d) There is a tall tower and a merry-go-round, which spins you slowly and gives you a fantastic view of the whole city from the top.

e) Dungeon : is a horror ride, where you encounter many types of ghosts. Not much scary

f) Cinemagic : NOT TO BE MISSED. You sit down on a bench and the movie starts and you think it must be a documentary, you will never be prepared for what follows. A virtual reality ride which leaves you stunned and screaming for more.

g) Musical fountain and Laser show (we missed due to lack of time)

h) Hang glider : you are seated in an open cable car and move up a calbe to the top and then come down at moderate speed, giving you a feeling of flight.

and many other rides including Crazy dashing cars, wagon cars, pirate ship, etc.

Wet rides

Start off your wet rides with Wonder Splash, you are taken in a wagon uphill into a dark cave and you descend to a steep fall into the water creating a huge splash. This is the most popular ride and has long queues. You can also get a photo of your ride, taken just before the dizzying drop.

For the adventurous, there are twisters and water slides and water pendulum. For others, the play pools and wave pools are excellent places to chill out. Waves and a rain disco are run at specified timings. Dont miss the Lazy river, where you sit in a tube and glide in a river at a lazy place soaking in the pleasant atmosphere. Of course, lockers are available at nominal costs and there is a well-maintained change room.

Food is extra, veg food is available at 50 per head (unlimited), taste is ok. But other snacks were not so tasty. The best thing here is everything is available at MRP. Whether you want to buy water, cola, chips or ice-cream everything available at MRP, unlike other places where you are fleeced. In fact there are boards advising you not to pay more than MRP.

The main USP's of Wonderla are:

1) Excellent maintenance : Most water parks have problems with maintenance, but this place is wonderfully maintained and lots of staff available to keep the place clean

2) Orderly queues and all rides are safe

3) Though the initial entry fee seems high, it is value for money

4) Lots of rides, lots of things to do, but time is short. We went in at 11:30 (park opens 11) and came out at 7:30 (official closing time 6 on weekdays), but still were not available to cover everything!

Overall, we had an ooh-la-la experience at Wonderla. If you are in Bangalore, dont forget to plan one full day to have a great time at this wonderful amusement park.

Wonderful Time at WONDER LA...
Apr 01, 2009 01:54 PM 19166 Views

I visited this place Wonder La on March 28, 2009. Its awesome. The ticket per person is 598.00 including taxes for both Dry & Water Rides. Its extremely clean & green. The food also is very reasonable. For Rs. 50 you can have gobi machurian & fried noodles and the taste is also very good. If you want to buy swim costumes they are available at very low price, Rs. 60 for a barmuda. Ice-creams & soft drinks are available at MRP. I do not agree to the review which says that Wonder La is expensive place. This price is OK for a 1 full day of complete fun & entertainment & fantastic experience.

The rides are awesome & very well maintained. The gaurds check the locksfor each & every person sitting on ride before starting the rides. For allthe ages of people there are some or the other rides. For water ridesthere is no dress code. You can wear watever you are comfortable in.

Its a total fun there. I would advise all to visit there atleast once. Its a best option for a! day outing. Make sure you visit on a Saturday. so that you can rest on Sunday. as to tend to get tired after enjoying at Wonder la the whole day.

Its not even a week since I visited ther and im already planning to visit there again.

Wunnerful way for family/friends time
Jun 29, 2007 05:43 AM 12637 Views

Wonder La is a pleasant surprise and fun place for even folks visiting Bangalore. Its really clean, the employees at all levels are very disciplined, food is great/cheap/multi-cuisine and the rides are Wonderful. Spend the entire day there, but you may still not get to cover all the dry and wet rides they offer:)

Yes its a theme park, so don't really expect considerable number of activities for your elderly parents, or for someone who may have health issues like high BP or scare for heights:( Some kid rides and the indoor shows are sure to capture their mind. Make use the locker room, have one or two pairs of change clothes ready and a satisfied ride home. Take care of your cameras and cell to avoid water in them. Water could feel cold when you come out of rides. Also use sun screen for your safety.

Thrill rides live upto their names and Water is really refreshing and yes, clean. The laser and musical fountain, the rain disco, the 3D show are all a must and indoors. Kiddie rides are interestingly done and include Moon walker bouncy slide, Jumping frogs, Mini train, Pirate ship, Kiddy wheel, the horse-carousal etc., The setting is family friendly for a park of this size.

Water Pendulum is not the only thrill! Water rides have twisters, racers, vertical falls, all at different levels for individuals and groups based on how much challenge you need. Check the height limit if you have kids, some allow, some don't. Play pool is fun but wave pool gets you in the rush:)  Laze in the Lazy River while it carries you around.

Dry rides have the Bamba- the bus that gets raised; Screamy Maverick that twists and turns you; Drop zone- the gravity defying drop;  Termite train entertains everyone with its roller coaster in a termite home, so indoor; Insanity is really the insane drive:) Y scream- yes, you got to scream; Techno Jump believe me has its scary moments but really fun; Hurricane is indeed whirly and high; Crazy cars isn't anything new, but a family favorite; Wonder Splash can not leave you without soaking wet, but happy; Mixer works you around;

Toon tango lets you relive your childhood; then there is Lion swing and flying Elephant rides; Pirate ship looks simple, but take the challenge, just for the sake of it:) Net walk lets you relax in another way; Get a good view  of the entire park and all around it from the Sky wheel; The laser and musical fountain, the rain disco, the Cinemagic  Death train all three are a must and are indoors. Overall, its a great place to chill out, away from everyday worries and to find out who is bold and who isn't:)
