Wisk Laundry Detergent Reviews

Lousy product!
Feb 12, 2014 06:12 AM 9751 Views

Are you kidding? Are these people using the same product I am?

Wisk doesn't clean tomato stains, heavy dirt or grease and only easy stains come out!  Wisk doesn't work any better than the cheapest products out there for the cost it's the worst out there. A cheap detergent for half the price is a better deal. In fact, there's no detergent out there that cleans stains.

I have proof just look at my towels after I use Wisk. You've got to be kidding!

Best detergent

This was my first time to use Wisk and just loved.  I do not own my own washer and dryer so have to go out to laudry mat for those who know how that is most of the time your clothes don't always come out with a fresh smell but when I used wisk my laundry came out smelling and looking great and still stop smelling the laundry.

I've used other detergents but have to say have found a new detergent will use all the time.  Laundry also had less wrinkles

After reading one of the other reviews I decided to pick up the Wisk Free and Clear for my husbands uniforms as I can no longer use the original scented Tide I was using for them due to my recent developement of allergies.   Also, taking into account I had to purchase new detergents to try  due to the allergies to see what would work for me, I really didn't have the extra money in the budget to pay for the Tide Free, which retails at my local store for about$9 for a 32 load jug.  So, I picked up a 32 load jug of the Wisk Free and Clear for$5.  That$4 difference helps, especially around this time of year.

I must say I was incredibly impressed.  This detergent did far better than the Tide ever did.  My husbands uniforms and work coat came out better than they ever had before.  Now, I did not pretreat the first time I used it.  I always want to see what a detergent can do just putting it in.  It gives me a better idea of it's effectiveness, but I did soak the clothing with the detergent in the washing machine.  Now my husband is a Garbage man.  He gets many difficult unknown stains and it is usually impossible to get them lighter let alone just getting them all out.  The Wisk removed many of the stains and left the other ones much lighter.  Also, all odors were completely gone.  It was so effective, my husband even noticed and if you ever met him, you would know he usually doesn't comment about anything unless it's something highly noticable.

Now to save me money, I am only using this for his uniforms and use other lower cost detergents for our general laundry.  However, I must say, that if you have tough stains and allergies, the Wisk Free and Clear is the detergent for you.

CREAM OF THE CROP you can't get a better detergent

I keep many kinds of laundry soap on hand, there are many kinds of stains, but this is the one I use for the absolute worse stains there are and the dirtiest clothes.  NOTHING CLEANS BETTER.  Nothing at all. You can put your dirtiest most stained clothes in even untreated, let them soak all night, wash in the morning, they will be as clean as the day you got them.

Wisk changed it's formula a little, and is very low sudsing, but dont' let that fool you.  Wisk is an extremely difficult detergent to rinse out.  If you don't rinse your clothes at least twice, you get all the residue on the clothes, and with wisk sometimes it takes upwards if 8 rinses to get the water to run clear.  it is very very expensive, so it shouldln't be used unless you really need something strong.  leaves behind a very strong but not unpleasant scent

Best liquid detergent to remove stains.

Wisk liquid laundry detergent is the absolute best at removing stains. I've tried almost all the other brands out there and none even come close. I have two sons and they've never had a stain yet that Wisk hasn't removed completely. I pour it directly on the stain and let it sit for 15 minutes up to a few days depending on when I do laundry.

Also, Wisk has never faded any colored clothes which has happened to me with other brands. I recommend it to all my friends and family. I've even had people give me items of their clothing to remove stains because they know I can get any stain out.

My only complaint is that Wisk's scents are not very strong and they do not leave a pleasant fragrance on clothes. I like Gain and All for their scents, but I still use Wisk for stain removal.

I recently purchased a front loading washer and dryer. I then had to find a good low suds laundry soap. I bought and tried several different brands. I was just not having any luck. I would either use too much or not enough. A friend recommended Wisk-He, which is made for front loading washing machines. There is no need to guess as to the amount to use. There on the back of the bottle is all the information that you need. Also very important, is the fact that Wisk free and clear has no dyes or chemicals that can cause irritation to sensitive skin. And those with children will appreciate that. I hope that this review will help some of you to have a little clean fun.

Wisk Your Way Into Doing The Laundry!!!
Aug 22, 2002 10:38 PM 15374 Views

Once again in life I have come across a wonderful washing powder. I have tried many over the years and I do have my favorites and this one will be added to my list! I like the way it cleans the clothes and it has a very nice smell to it!

Of course this washing detergent has been around a long time, in fact I have used the liquid version several times but hardly ever the powder. I have always been happy with the liquid and felt that I should be just as happy with the powder so I tried it again. I was right I do like it.

I will now use both the liquid and the powder in this product. They both clean well, but the one I am going to talk about is the powder. And it is much cheaper than the other leading brands!

Wisk® Stain Dissolving Power detergent is a powder that cleans well. The smell is very pleasant and I have had no complaints in the house about using it. The powder is white with small blue granules, which are the stain fighters.

There is a light green (almost clear) measuring scoop that comes in the box and it is marked with two fill lines for the correct measuring of the detergent. However, as most of us do we just scoop out what we think we need and pour it into the washer. Keep in mind if you have a water softener like I now do you will certainly use less than normal.

When I wash a load of clothes I will start the water and then add the detergent to the water so it will start dissolving. I think this is the best way. Then I add the clothes that I have separated into the washer.

Of course the box recommends using hot water for white clothes, warm water for bright colors and permanent press and cold water for colors that may fade or bleed. I personally use cold water for all washing, unless sometimes there are harsh odors in the towels then I will use warm or hot water.

Wisk® powder is also great for pre soaking. I add about ½ scoop, depending on the stain and let the clothes sit for about ½ hour or so. Sometimes overnight depending on the stain. I will then wash as normal.

You can also use this detergent for pre treating easily. For grass stains I will make a paste and apply to the stain. (you can do this with any detergent brand you use.) I will make sure that the stained area is a little damp or wet and then apply the paste I have made to it. Let it set for ½ hour or so and then wash as normal. Always check to make sure the stain has come out before putting the clothes into the dryer. Once the heat of the dryer gets to the clothing the stain can more set in and be very difficult to get out. At least while the clothes are still wet you can reapply the paste you made and let it soak longer, overnight if necessary.

And be sure to always do a colorfast test before using any detergent. The best way to do this is to find an area in the clothing that is not normally seen and dip it into hot water then rub the powder into that wet area and if the color doesn’t run you are okay.

Always wash red clothing with red clothing. Unless you want pink clothing!

The box I got is 3 lb 15 oz in size and cost $4.97 (US Dollars). It is blue in color with the Wisk® orange colored writing. Will do about 32 loads of wash depending on how much you measure out.

Please be sure and check all ingredients before buying to make sure you are not allergic to any of them. Wisk® does come in a non-scented brand as well as other various scented brands. Wisk® does contain sodium carbonate. And I you happen to get into your eyes rinse thoroughly with water. And if your child or yourself for that matter happens to swallow any drink a glass of water or milk and call your doctor.

I have really enjoyed using this detergent and I do suggest that if you are in the market for a new detergent to try Wisk®.

I hope that this has helped in some kind of way!

God Bless!

Want a stain out, try this?
Jul 13, 2001 05:33 PM 9689 Views

I much prefer liquid detergents to powders as I feel they clean much better. I use two different kinds Era and Wisk.

Wisk was the very first liquid I used that really works. It has never failed to get out any stains, even blood. That can be one of the hardest stains to get out. When I seen how it worked on this (you rub a small amount right into the stain and throw in the machine) I dug out a piece of clothing that had blood stains set in for a long time and I had tried washing that item with all kinds of products and could never get it out so figured I would try it.

It took even the very old det in stain out and there was no trace left at all of the stain. Most stains are protein based and Wisk is formulated to take out those stains.

Price wise I find it comparable to any other name brand and even if it were a bit more it would be worth the extra money.

I am another one that has to be careful to allergic reactions to cleaners and this does not cause one.

It also leaves a nice fresh scent to your clothing. So if you have tough laundry problems or even just normal washings I would recommend this product. Just remember when treating stains to put a dab of the liquid right on the stain, rub it in and toss it in to wash. There is no need to pre-soak with this.

Wisking away dirt with Wisk
Jul 13, 2001 10:50 AM 8790 Views

I have tried many laundry soaps over the years and eventually always came back to Wisk. It still ranks at the top.

First of all, I have sensitive skin. Depending on the laundry soap I use and what ingredients it contains, I break out in a light rash where the clothing touches my skin. With Wisk, I do not have to worry about this issue; I have never had a problem.

My clothes are clean and bright colored. For the most part they are spotless. Everyday stains like spilled coffee or tea, and most daily stains come right out.

The only one that I have found Wisk to fail at is Mulberry stains, but unless the clothing is white and you can bleach it, nothing takes Mulberry stains out!

I prefer to buy the 300 oz. Size of Wisk and use the convenient little pour spout to fill my smaller bottle. The bulk size is too big and heavy to have to drag to the Laundromat every week. Until I by a house in Maryland and get a washer and dryer, I will be making the weekly trip back and forth to the laundromat carrying my bottle of Wisk! I know my clothes will be clean!
