White Nights - Fyodor Dostoevsky

I read this book as a part of my literature classes. Dostoevsky leaves a note of a sadness in the mouth after reading his novels, but this is not a reason to be diappointed. There is no doubt this is masterpiece worth to be among the greatest classic novels of all times.

The saying goes that one should not judge a book by its cover, in this case, don't judge the book by the movie. This beautiful story's movie adaptation was Saawariya. The experience of the story is a far cry from the movie. This story by Dostoyevsky, is a story of unrequited love.

There are six sections in which the story is devided. The narrator of the story gives an account of his life in St Petersburg. He then tells the story of Nastenka, a young girl he is n love with. Dostoyevsky's writing is what makes this love story a beautiful one.

His description of their encounters is spectacular. The pace of the story is engaging. This heartbreaking story will make the readers fall in live with the nameless narrator. Even though the narrator is heart broken in the end, he refuses to give up hope. This book is a really great read and I highly recommend it to everyone. Apart from this I highly recommend Crime and Punishment by Dostoyevsky.
